I should admin that seeing a title like Ancient Aliens under a channel called History channel, made me very interested in watching it. I guess I had too high expectations. The show is full of people, most of them without any credibility, talking about what they believe without any evidence to support their case. In the few attempts to produce evidence, they present the data in a distorted way to justify their view. Then if there is something that their limited imagination can not explain, they introduce it as a work of aliens. Needless to say that there are all these questions "could this be the work of aliens?", which are strategically placed to provoke the viewer to come to a stupid conclusion. Most probably the producers also know that this show is a joke, and they only ask questions to avoid getting sued. If they come to any conclusions themselves with such poor research, the scientific world would be suing them for everything they got.Why is a channel that runs such shows called History Channel and not something else? Are the rest of the shows in this channel also this uninformative?
... View MoreGod, this show is ridiculous! They don't get their facts right and they exaggerate things! "What if" "maybe" is all I hear. They overthink things when there's a more logical reason to why things happened. I actually do believe that Aliens exist, but this show is ridiculous and so stupid! Incredibly stupid! I watch this show when I'm bored and I still face palm. Why is this show on the "history" category? Why is this show on the channel History? I don't understand how this show has so many positive ratings! At first this show was so stupid that I just laughed, but now, it's not even funny. I'm giving it a 3 because of the visuals, they are quite nice plus, I like the Narrator's voice.
... View MoreI'm not sure where all the hate is being generated, a lot of the negative views and call for inaccurate "facts" (theories) have come from people who believe and swear by Resurrection, Heaven, Afterlife, 100 Virgins, Rebirth and the spreading of oceans. This is a series based on theories not facts, much like every religion/religious book that is worshiped by many. All I ask is "that you do to others what you would have them do to you" should you decide to verbalize your theories and beliefs. Listen, enjoy their views then shake your head and leave or accept that "it could be" as you have all done by believing in an entity based on theories and interpretations from script. Great series, give it a watch, believe it, don't believe it, laugh at it, give it some thought, gasp in shock and awe, gasp in shock and disbelief, laugh in humor, cry in shame.Would recommend to everyone who has respect for other peoples theories. Would not recommend to people who aren't willing smile outside of their "way"
... View MoreRead a review that gave this series a ten not because it was being taken seriously but because it is well produced, entertaining and really good for laughs.I agree, up to a point. But what really bothers me about shows like this and many others that belong to the 'Pandering to the Lunatic Fringe' department of Discovery is how closely they adhere to the principle of the Scam: the viewers are marks and their only reason for being is to be fleeced. So, what's the point? As with lone wolf con-and-scam artists, why put so much energy into proving that the gullible, obsessed or just plain dumb are gullible, obsessed and just plain stupid? The economic return, the most obvious answer, doesn't cut it. The same amount of energy expended in more traditional economic, academic or curiosity based endeavors would yield a much higher return, either monetarily or in the satisfaction of a job well done.Scam and con-artists, individually, can be explained in various psychological ways: pathologies stemming from everything from childhood trauma to the pure joy of putting something over, enriching your ego by making a fool of someone else. The producers of shows like this, what are their motives? The same? If so, they're final reward will be ashes.Which resumee would any normal person choose: one listing positive benefits to yourself and others or one reading "Hey, I fooled a lot of people and made them look like idiots".As for the Ancients: they did very well on their own, from the monumental statues created by good old hunter-gathers unearthed at Tell Gobeki Tepe to the Pyramids to the Colossus of Rhodes with no need for assistance, divine or alien.
