This movie actually turned out better than I had expected it to be. But then again, of course I didn't really have much of any expectations for a movie such as this to begin with."Why Did I Get Married Too?" starts out with the appearance of just another romantic comedy. But then the movie suddenly started to become so much more, as it came to be revealed all the problems and life situations that each and everyone in the different marriages were dealing with and struggling with. The cast was rather good, and people were well cast for their individual roles. The actors and actresses performed quite well. There are some pretty good laughs throughout the movie, just as there are moments of thick drama and emotion. So there is a bit of everything to be had in "Why Did I Get Married Too?".I can warmly recommend that you take the time to watch this movie if you enjoy romantic comedies that have more than the usual superficial layer to them that permeates the romantic comedy genre.

..It's like watching the God Father 2 without watching the God Father..Some sequels you can do that and still understand, but not with this series...It carries on and just catches you up to where they are now and hopefully in the future...I tried in the beginning to watch the second one at first without seeing the first and didn't understand it either, but when I watched the first and then saw the second it made more sense to me.I do wish that they would focus a little more on Pat and Gavin's relationship...It would make the plot a lot better, but sometimes it's hard to get all of the relationships in the 2 and half hour film allotment.

A few months after I saw this movie on Netflix, I still have some mixed feelings about this Tyler Perry film that was the first I saw in its entirety. I mean, I did like the parts about that woman still having some grudge against her abusive ex-husband who's only trying to redeem himself. And there was some amusements of that constantly jealous woman concerning her sportscaster husband though it did threaten to wear thin. And that brief scene of Louis Gossett, Jr. and Cicely Tyson on the beach when they shared their journey as husband and wife were worthy of the time. But after that with the Janet Jackson character suddenly unraveling after deciding to split from her husband seemed to be writer Perry's way of providing some kind of conflict to make for a more exciting drama but only made things seem more contrived than needed. And I can't believe that the person who cameoed at the end actually agreed to do it! Bottom line, Why Did I Get Married Too? was a very mixed bag of an intro to Mr. Perry's work for me but at least he wasn't playing Medea again so that's one positive.

Nowhere near as good or as funny as the first one. The characters were likable in the first film but in this one they are annoying and the whole thing is over dramatised for no apparent reason. The Janet Jackson character is particularly annoying in this one and over acts in just about every scene she is in. ALL the marriages seem to fall apart at the same time in this film and the characters that were created in the first film seem to have become the complete opposite type of people in this one.The final scene was just silly and made a mockery of both films in one moment. This was especially so since by the end we didn't care much for the Janet Jackson character whose childish behaviour had caused her husbands death. So her finding another possible victim to have a relationship with was supposed to make us feel what? That said there was one good point to this film. It should make most married people think about what they have not what they could have!
