While on vacation in Thailand, an American fighter finds that his kidnapped girlfriend is taken by a gang of vampires who have special plans to raise an army of vampire warriors and must team up with a special sect who hunt vampires to stop their evil plans. This is a whole lot better than it had every right to be. One of the more enjoyable aspects here is that this is one of the most creative vampire films around, and considering the two elements mixed together, vampire and martial arts, why it hadn't been done sooner is a big mystery. They have been shown to work together before and with the two elements finally given a chance to breathe, they work magically in here. Even though it's nowhere near the level of intricacy, ability or prowess of a full-on martial arts movie, this one does have some rather impressive stunts. The fights are all pretty noteworthy, from the first brawl at the market to highlight the abduction, it's series of shorter attacks showing him wading through the group trying to get back as well as the various fights against the henchmen trailing after them attempting to hold them back so they can get on with their plans. While these are fun enough, the ending conflagration stands out as being full of non- stop action and fistfights of every kind are shown, and the chaos and choreography present are breathtaking. The several car chases are pretty interesting, and the special highlight is the motorcycle chase through the village which wouldn't feel out of place in a straight action film crashing into everything and seeing all the different bodies being wrecked gives it a sense of fun since the action is pretty much non-stop and makes it that much more watchable. There's also the fact that it changes the rules of the vampires a little isn't all that far of a stretch, as it works around the myths and uses them to a certain advantage, making them work rather than simply making up useless logic to justify the changing it does. The turns seem logical and it makes them a rather great choice. The location change to Thailand instead of more usual places also works quite well and it uses the local scenery to its benefit featuring plenty of fantastic use of local temples and villages in the area which is a refreshing site to see. Coupled with the great blood and gore, there's enough to really enjoyable here with this one. There are very few things about this one that's wrong. There is a point where the wire-fu can get annoying with its over-the-top attitude near the end, and it's on the edge at times with the obviousness of the situation coming into play with normal human abilities in these sections with the fact that there is such a profound change away from traditional conventions with these scenes. Likewise, there's a point where it comes to a small dip to its cheese level being acceptable, but they're small gripes that aren't that detrimental to the film.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, Brief Nudity and a brief, mild sex scene.

There's a good story well hidden and never really used! The film is short and overly dependent on action and thematic photography; somehow, character and story development have been forgotten. What is left is muddled and superficial.Turn off your brain and watch—you will probably find that the time goes quickly enough, but unless you are the sort of person that finds soaps deep and meaningful, you are going to get no real satisfaction from this film.Watch only if you have nothing better to do and then only if someone else pays for the video rental.

This movie is really bad. The hero can't play. You see too much that he learned his walking moves by heart. And believe me, he walks a lot. For 45 min, nothing happens. He only walks to places and gets out..... Like if the story was so short that they had to extend it by adding useless and boring "looks-like-a-suspens" scenes.Dialogues are very poor. I counted around a lots of "hello's" and few "hang on" on the 1st part.Blood is orange like the Mercurochrome you put on kid's blisters. And scenes are not following themselves. A bloody neck on a scene, a clean neck on the following. The story could have been improved. Yeah I mean what the hell is the story? Martial arts? Where? Is that martial arts? Watch how hesitant and slow are the moves!!!!! If giving a kick and receiving a punch is called martial arts, then I am Bruce Lee!!!!The only good point I have found is on fight scenes : They don't play with zoom and fast switching scenes that gives you headache in most of action movies. There are plenty of low budget movies that are great. That one was just to make money. Nothing else.

Like the other person who commented, I was actually happily diverted by this film, and thought it was everything one could expect from a Thai Vampire Kickboxing flick.Actually, the cinematography seemed above B-movie-average much of time; great colors with a heavy concentration on keeping a sense of being in Thailand and in Bangkok. A couple of exceedingly cheesy missteps aside- spinning camera effect + Sex = the giggles - it was easy to get lost in.The Bad guy, Dom Hetrakul, was very good at being slinky and evil; he was also very hot.My only major casting complaint is with the woman playing Sang; she was lovely, but was a horrible actress where everyone else in this movie was at least Not That Bad, and her flat California accent sorta took away from that whole key "800 hundred year old Thai-princess-vampire" effect. But, the tone was just right for what type of movie it was, and everyone's reactions were nicely realistic. (If, say, you were caught trying to rescue your girlfriend from vampires in Thailand.) I would recommend this movie highly if you have a love of, say, Bloodsport and other 80s classics of cheesy kung-fu and semi-mystical Asia-based fun.
