Vampire Academy Trailers

Rose, a rebellious half-vampire/half-human guardian-in-training and her best friend, Lissa -- a mortal, royal vampire Princess - have been on the run when they are captured and returned to St. Vladamirs Academy, the very place where they believe their lives may be in most jeopardy. Rose will sacrifice everything to protect Lissa from those who intend to exploit her from within the Academy walls and the Strigoi (immortal, evil vampires) who hunt her kind from outside its sanctuary.

Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human-half vampire, a guardian of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discreetly within our world. Her calling is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi. Vampice Academy was pretty fun and to be honest? way better than i truly expected it to be plus i did liked and enjoyed most of the perfomances. It's not a masterpiece or a great movie in general but it's watchable and pretty fun and that's all you need to know to try and enjoy it depending on your tastes of course. (7.5/10)

I really wanted to like this. I am an avid fan of the books but unlike a lot of avid fans, I am realistic. I don't diss movies because they don't follow the books. I am realistic enough to know that an imagination is going to trump budget, location and time constraints every single time. And as much as I really wanted to have the entire series made into movies, if they think about follow on's they need to have a good hard think. The movie itself had two trailers. One was a mean girls, laugh a minute, spoof which looked dreadful and the second was darker. So it was my hope that OK, directors of the mean girls wasn't going to be a good advertisement but maybe the found a way to combine all the elements. It didn't. The book series is excellent. Its not sparkly vampires, think more The originals than Twilight. Its dark, its serious, but there are some excellently written light hearted Rose Hathaway moments. The dhampir who conforms to nobody and isn't afraid to rebel. What did we get? Canned laughter type moments, moments that should have been funny but weren't. More a Disney type channel comedy aimed at children. I get it should appeal to non book readers, to people who have never ever heard of Richelle Mead, but that went so far the other way there is no surprise it bombed. Such a shame, such a let down for something that could have been better than all the movies that came before.

I suppose the premise for VAMPIRE ACADEMY, the latest vampire-themed young adult film adapted from a book, is TWILIGHT meets HARRY POTTER. That's certainly the theme here as the plot involves age-old aristocratic vampires, both good and bad, and the students of a vampire academy who swot up on vampire lore. What it amasses to isn't very much at all. This is a weak emulation of a typical American high school movie complete with grating British accents and some truly horrid performances from the young cast members. Indeed, some of the actors in this I found completely excruciating, particularly the leads. Their dialogue sounds hollow and feels false, which is little surprise considering how it aches to be oh-so-hip and down with the kids.As is usual for this genre, a couple of old-timers are wheeled out like forgotten waxworks; Joely Richardson and Gabriel Byrne are the ones foolish enough to sign up in this case. Olga Kurylenko is here too, although she has so little screen time that I wonder why she bothered showing up on the day. The whole film is a joke from start to finish, with rubbish direction and some of the fakest fight scenes I can remember watching. The only wonder comes from wondering why they bothered shooting it in the first place.

Vampire academy is one of the few teenage vampire stories that deviates from the well trodden path of a weak insipid girl falling in love with a handsome rich vampire. Rather it is a story of friendship and all that encompasses a teenage girls life. It's not a story of a swooning girl but rather a girl fights for what she believes in. it's a story filled with an amazing sarcastic humour and fight scene. You never get bored but are hooked till the end. it's a versatile movie i promise even the boys will enjoy. It's easy to fall in love with the characters that the actors portray so well. As with all movies that are based on books and hard core fans will be disappointed bit even they will love watching their dearest characters come alive on screen. It's hard adapting a book but the directors don't do the characters an injustice but rather seem to enhance their qualities. it's a fun entertaining movie to watch to help you relax and forget life for a while. who don't like vampire stories that too one which is entirely different from normal story lines, i am very much thank full to Flickstree for recommending this particular film.
