I like Jill Clayburn and this is an important issue. However, it's one that has become something of a legal nightmare. I do not know if this particular case turned out to be accurate but I do know that in the climate of drama-driven media, most esp. by Fox, overly zealous prosecutors and unscrupulous politicians, the label of sex offender has become a catchall for men, mostly of all stripes, from the most pathetically harmless to a very small minority of truly dangerous people. The registry itself is bloated beyond belief, men's (mostly) lives have been destroyed, including their families (and children), losing jobs, having to move, some many times, becoming targets of vigilantes. An old man in Florida was murdered with a baseball bat and it was a case of mistaken identity. A young man in Maine was killed. He was 19 when he was placed on the registry because his girlfriend (who was 15) had a father who disapproved of the relationship. This young man and the girl later got married but the man who shot him was out to "get some sex offenders". Stories like this have happened all over the U.S. I am NOT saying there aren't dangerous people out there but many of the so-called "child porn" cases have come from police internet stings that catch naive men, esp. younger ones, dumb/pathetic ones downloading "bundled" porn not realizing there are"Tracy Lorde types" in there...14, 15 yr. old teens who look older. The modern day witch hunt for child predators has caught many in its' indiscriminate bloated net that are not dangerous people, esp. not dangerous to small children. If you care about justice, learn the facts: .. Sex offenses are the EASIEST crimes to falsely accuse someone of. Many prosecutors call them "easy wins". ... ... I sincerely hope that all the parties who were found guilty were in fact guilty, because the only thing worse than the abuse of small children is the destruction wrought by false accusations about the abuse of small children. To strike some balance on this topic, I highly recommend the Danish film, "The Hunt" with Mads Mikkelsen. The other thing I came away with is the abject tragedy of our sexually obsessed society, of which this story is but one perspective. We are dealing increasingly with the dissemination of a worldview that sees the quest for personal sexual freedom as a very militant religious one. Nothing can be denied in the quest for personal sexual fulfillment, since it is replacing God as the only meaning that very many people believe is worth pursuing in life. The events of this story is a direct symptom of this growing worldview. It is still seen as the ugly side, the socially unacceptable dark side of the pursuit of sexual fulfillment. But as the religious zeal for sexual fulfillment grows and the values of the traditional family are relegated to obsolescence, we are sure to hear the call for greater acceptance for pedophilia in the name of love, freedom, and (of all things) education. It has long been the stance of pedophile organizations that what they do is both loving, and in the best interests of children's sexual progress toward maturity and fulfillment. As the LGBT political agenda gains momentum in our society, there will eventually be a follow- up movement to gain societal approval for pedophilia. The National Man-Boy Love Association was for a long time partnered with the LGBT front, but was jettisoned a few years back because the connection was hurting the LGBT movement politically. But we can be fairly sure that once the LGBT interests have made sufficient inroads, there will begin to be noise about the next step; acceptance for members of the NMBLA. Where we go from there God only knows.I hope we wake up and find our moral compass before that happens, but I am not optimistic, considering the current ubiquitous lack of moral and logical thinking on these issues.

I wondered if they understood what they were talking about. At the end of the movie they had a were they are now thing, so I'm guessing it was a true story, which makes it extremely disturbing.
... View MoreUnlike the McMartin trial, there are no questions here. These folks are pure and simple child molesters. A very good adaption from a very good, large volume, so kudos to the screenwriter for boiling it down. Clayburgh and Davis are great as child shrinks. Again, character drives the story of child molestation in a daycare home. See it and weep, and learn.
