Very confusing and extremely boring. The editing feels terrible and disjointed. Story is vague and you cannot connect to any character. No suspense, thrill, mystery or even proper drama. Acting is good by lead characters but the script and screenplay really ruins it all. The whole movie feels too stretched out and there are just too many "odd" names to follow. You easily lose track of all names and story many times throughout the film. The score is also very dull and evokes no emotion at anytime in the entire film. Too much switching into past and present which further adds up to confusion. I am giving a 2 only because of some very talented actors on board, otherwise this is probably a 1/10 movie. You can easily skip your sleeping pills for a night and use this film instead. Easily passable. Not recommended to even the most hardcore movie fanatics. Do not fall for the cast or false ratings and reviews and think of giving it a "try". I did the same (even though the name itself is so lame and sounds like a kid's movie at the first place) and was highly disappointed.

It was like trying to follow a fart in the wind. Call me old fashioned but I think a movie should have some kick. This wasn't that. It wasn't even a movie. It was a film.

Tinker Tailor Soldier SpyIf there is anyway one is supposed to create such character driven feature, its in this manner i.e. cunning, gripping and brewing brutality and tension among the characters revolving around this eerie bubble that they all reside in. Tomas Alfredson's brilliant execution is definitely a step forward but the screenplay by Peter Straughan and Bridget O'Connor (adapted from a novel by John le Carre) has already won this marathon before it even begins this around 2 hour journey. Gary Oldman has given his best in it along with the help of a great supporting cast like Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Toby Jones and Tom Hardy. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy; despite of its brilliant execution and stellar performances, is a writers show that helps the feature kick in to their world from the first frame keeping it smart and true to its tone throughout the course of it.

Why didn't Smiley dump his wife. It appears she is at home in the last scene. What's that all about?
