This is one of the strangest films I have ever seen, mainly due to how much it leaves you near constantly questioning what is going on. Not so much from a narrative standpoint, but in the absolute weirdness of the humor, which, having been taken out of Tim and Eric's usual 45 second sketch format and placed in a feature length film, seems even more jarring than usual. This is not a bad thing, however; I do love me some Tim and Eric weirdness. That's the main point of this film: you HAVE to already be familiar with this style of humor, or you will HATE it, trust me. Within the first 10 seconds of the film, the uninitiated will ask the following questions: Why is Jeff Goldblum saying that his name is Chef Goldblum? Am I watching a commercial before the movie? Why did he say hi three times? Am I going to hate this movie? If you had to ask all of these questions, then the answer to the last one is most certainly yes. The crux to Tim and Eric's anarchical humor is acceptance of everything; in order to enjoy any of their material, one must essentially accept that almost everything is clichéd and trite, and here is a nihilistic parody of that as well as the entire world. This is not to say that you can't criticize this film; I doubt that even the most fervent of Tim and Eric supporters laugh at all of their jokes. For me, those that fall the most flat are the gross out gags; the ones involving diarrhea, semen, urine, etc. (if you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about) Even so, I'm sure that Tim and Eric understood this, that many would dislike some of these gags, but simply didn't care. Even more, I think that this movie strangely enough wouldn't work without them. The spirit of all of this duo's products is a fierce sense of experimentation; were it that every joke felt the same, or even that there were coherent running gags, that experimentation would be lost. This is a movie for a distinct group of people who want to see complete insanity unfold before them, without a hint of normality throughout the entire thing. If you want to try out something like this, I suggest going to the television series first, as it is shorter and far easier to digest. If you are already a fan of the show, however, you will love this thing, as I did. It's demented weirdness at its finest.

Tim and Eric created a movie true to their style. I was skeptical and frankly a bit scared that Tim and Eric could have the ability to create something as awful as the negative reviews proclaim, I should have known that mainstream opinion should not trusted, however I was more shocked to read negative reviews from Tim and Eric hardcore fans, I simply cannot believe that fans of Tim and Eric did not like this movie, the movie has the exact same chemistry as the episodes, the same style of humour, a lot of the jokes are direct imports from the episodes, so a lot of "inside jokes" that only a fan would understand. The acting was fantastic, the jokes were high caliber, I felt the jokes were very sophisticated, a lot of thinking went into it, I absolutely adored this movie especially because I'm a Tim and Eric fan.My theory why some fans were afraid to love this movie is because they were too embarrassed by others, I wouldn't want to watch this with a non Tim and Eric fan for example, they would ruin my fun for sure, I think too many people are too self-conscious about loving this movie and being judged by others, the sad part is that Tim and Eric themselves seemed self-conscious about the movie in their Q&A session, popular opinion can be so devastating to the ego.

Say whatever you want about Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job and Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie but love them or hate them their comedy is unique and will stick with you. They definitely seem to be a polarizing act! Some people love them, some people hate them, to each their own. Lovers and haters just need to accept each other. If you love this show, accept that other people may not share our sense of humor. If you hate this show, then don't watch it, and accept that we find this kind of comedy funny. Why is that so hard for some people to accept? In the end most fans seem to like the movie while people who don't like their TV show will never like the movie.

Tim and Eric are back, several years after the demise of their regular program on adult swim, and have somehow found their way to the big screen. With all of the offensive gusto, in-your face silliness, and revolting subject matter they can muster, they manage to stretch their form of ridiculous sketch comedy out into a feature length production with mixed results.By its very nature, Tim and Eric's regular show barely lends itself to a half hour time slot, let alone a full length feature. Thus, the results of their first foray into film is not far removed from other recent, 'short term sketch comedy' experiments on the silver screen, including Macgruber, most of which have been largely unsuccessful. Many of their regular gags are brought in here -- but stretching these gags out merely makes the film seem long and uninspired. For die hard fans of Tim and Eric, however, there are some laugh out loud scenes, such as the unexpected explosion of a few characters toward the end of the film. John C. Reilley also delivers a sufficiently pathetic performance as a sickly mall maintenance worker, and other supporting actors ham it up with funny results.Ultimately, Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is a mixed bag at best. For fans of the show, it should partially please with some of the right elements, but will no doubt fail to satisfy, as many of the gags have been seen already on the show. For non fans, it's best advised that you skip this one, as it will likely confuse and revolt you more than anything.
