What really sinks this semi-weird movie is the predictably disappointing ending that lets you down in every conceivable way. Most movies of this sort are good at build-up but suck at wrapping things up intelligently and neatly. (The David Lynch school of BS writing.) And that's what separates the men from the boys in cinema, the excellent mystery films from the mediocre ones. In fact, nothing is wrapped up; the conclusion is simply confusing, offering no answers at all: is he insane or not? was he cured?If you're going to revolve the ENTIRE movie around a simple two-way dilemma (insanity or aliens, in this case), you'd better reward the viewer with SOMETHING, anything. But we get squat. Very lazy. Pity, because a smart ending could have turned this into a well-made movie. Even cheesy hand-to-hand chop-sokey combat between some aliens and the two protagonists would have been better than what they gave us.Or were they saving money on CGI?

Honestly, me and my friends are going to stop shaving, cast an "adorkable" ingenue in the female lead and wander around in silence. We'll stop to glare at each other while playing minimalist techno in the background once in a whileWe'll substitute character development and a logical story-line for jump-cuts and a premise that could not unfold in reality, ever.When we need to we'll bend and twist the story to do whatever we want in order to get to the big cool scenes we want to do. LIke oh I don't know, maybe the main character gets fired by his girlfriend, because his co-workers think he's an asshole...The US press keeps bitching about fake news, so how come movie critics aren't up in arms about this new "fake movie" craze?

I was expecting a horror film but instead stumbled upon a nice psychological thriller. Kudos to the filmmakers and the cast. Well done across the board. Very realistic acting, got to care about all the characters. Had me wondering what I would do in all their situations. Mental illness is difficult to deal with, I know. This handled it with empathy. Again, we'll done!

I forced myself to watch the whole movie because of the reviews. But it never got good. I rather get a pair of pliers and rip each toenail off one by one rather than watch this again.
