You don't need to know what this movie's about. Trust me. It doesn't matter. If you insist on watching it, then you either enjoy utter nonsense and will accept anything, or you're a masochist like me and will sit through every movie in a sci-fi collection just so you can say you did it. But what did I really think of it, you ask? Painful. Very, very painful. I know, bad movies are fun, right? No, sometimes they're just tedious and annoying. Plot, characters, acting, fx, sound, music... if the intention was to create something mind-numbingly bad in every facet of movie- making, then the producers of this piece of...film had a special talent for it. Otherwise, on completion of the movie, everyone associated should have been sterilized to prevent further contamination of the gene pool.

This wasn't as bad as most make it out to be,, if it was that bad I would have rated it a 1 or a 2. that being said , this wasn't particularly good either no mistake about that,, a pair of astronauts are kidnapped by alien forces who end up being robots. base camp sends out some soldiers to rescue them, and they end up fighting a strange race of people on a strange planet who later make friends with them and join in the help to save their friends,, so the two that were kidnapped end up having their own agenda and are really traitors against the earthlings,,, weird movie I must say,, but kind of fun also in a weird way.

For fans of terrible movies, this one has everything you could wish for:crazy plotawful acting (my favourites are the kissing scenes, where they look like they're trying to attack each others' faces, and the pathetic fight scenes)really stupid dialogue, like: "get em, guys!"unflattering futuristic outfits, including mini skirts over tights for the men.baddies in ridiculous blonde wigscool musiclow budget sets (I especially love the office chairs they sit on in the spaceship, and how they simulate accelerating by quickly leaning back in their chairs. Unfortunately, it's very hard to all do this at the same time! The best scene with the office chairs was when they were pretending there was turbulence by all wobbling about on the chairs in different directions!)If you love schlocky movies, you'll enjoy this one.

Wow, where do I begin? From the very beginning of this movie I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. We're introduced to the main characters very early on, and the short 30 second scene here is more than enough to make you care about what happens to these characters. The movie wastes no time after this and gets right down to the action, including a brilliant kidnapping scene that sets up the main story. The robots are amazing! Not since Robby the Robot have we seen the likes of these guys! They are amazingly efficient at the start, but once they encounter our heroes, this changes dramatically. Laser gun battles, hand to hand combat with innovative laser-swords and amazing special effects in general will have you at the edge of your seat. The space battles are particularly amazing; we're treated to views of the participants' heads and an occasional bright flash of light while laser noises and the like enhance the suspense.I don't want to give too much away here, as I feel the element of surprise is part of what makes this movie work so well. The combination of revolutionary special effects, remarkable cinematography, and a riveting story that the actors simply took and ran off with make for one of the science fiction blockbusters of the decade!
