Well, well, well, the Prophecy-movies are certainly ones that seem to get better and better to watch. I didn't liked the first movie and thought that the second one was just OK. This one at least is more exciting and entertaining to watch, though it still is far from a great movie itself.Seems like they actually got to spend some money this time on the movie. Visually the movie is good looking and it has a nice overall style and some standout visual sequences. It also certainly helps that the movie that it has plenty of action in it. It gives the movie lots of pace and make it a pleasant and at times also exciting one to watch. Seems that the movie its action got mostly inspired by the success of the first "The Matrix" movie but that's OK really. I still don't understand though why these movies all need to be so confusing and hard to follow. They are hard to follow not because they are deliberately complicated or brilliant written but because of the opposite really. It are some really messy stories and the director seems to have an hard time trying to tell the story. The whole idea behind the movies of having angels battling each other on Earth but the way it all gets presented in these movies make it hard to keep interest in them. It's far instance really hard to say who are supposed to be the good and bad guys in this one and what it is that they want, also of course due to the fact that this is something about its characters that constantly changes throughout the movie. The movie rapidly starts to get worse as it heads toward its ending. At this point the movie its story isn't even trying anymore it seems. It all becomes quite bad and you simply stop caring what is exactly going on because of it.I also don't really know why Christopher Walken got pushed a bit to the background this time. He pops up ever now and then but once you start thinking about it; was he really needed in this movie? He must have felt the same way, since this was the last movie out of the series in which he appeared. He is the foremost reason why the series ever became such a fairly popular one in the first place. He's still great and fun though in the sequences that he is in. He still looks weird though with that long fake hair.Far from anything too great but it's more watchable and entertaining than the previous movies out of the series, I have to give the movie credit for that.5/10http://bobafett1138.blogspot.com/

"The Prophecy III: The Ascent" is more of a conclusion than anything else.**SPOILERS**After an assassination attempt, religious activist Danyael Rosales, (Dave Buzzotta) is taken to the county morgue, where his girlfriend Maggie, (Kayren Butler) is unable to come up with the answer given when he disappears after a few hours. Uncovering the truth, that he plays an important part of a religious battle for control of the Earth through the Angel Zophael, (Vincent Spano) with his own half-angel, half-man status. With help from Gabriel, (Christopher Walken) a fallen angel stuck on Earth, he is soon informed of his status despite not knowing how it all happened, and is told of his significance in the War for control. Knowing that all the forces are now are after him, he is forced to go on the run to escape and battle for the future of mankind on the planet. The Good News: When this one has it coming, there's some really good stuff in it. The fact that there's finally answers to the storyline are a major one, even though there's nothing about it in the beginning and there's only a few at the ending, but these are enough to make it feel really conclusive to the story. The story lines are done and settled, with no loose ends left with the several stories here still leave the film with no questions about what's going on in the series. All of them are tied up and given explanations, making this one really feel nice in it's conclusion to the series. There's even a few really good action scenes in here to make it even more interesting. There's a spectacular foot-chase through a series of buildings and streets that really gets the excitement into the film. It has a fun conclusion that is pretty otherworldly and combines a lot of action into it. There's also a few fist-fights that incorporate some high-flying martial arts into the proceedings, and a rather blood-soaked finale that has enough body-piercing and heart-removing to leave the gore-hounds satisfied. The device is pretty nice and actually has a painful-looking purpose for it. That's what it should be, and manages to do it successfully. These here are what really help the movie. The Bad News: This one here doesn't have that many flaws to hold it down. One of the main ones is that there's a whole lot of scenes in the beginning which are just dull. The film is beginning to get it's mystery started and there's nothing in the film that really matters all that much. It takes a long time to set up the mystery, and from there it isn't too long to really get the film going, but with the points it has to deal with until then are just too dull to matter. When that ends, there's also the film's embarrassingly brief running time. This one really should've been stretchered out to a much longer time, as this makes the final epic battle seem relatively weak. It's all dealt with too quickly, and there's nothing in here that really makes that feel any different. The final confrontation is distressingly weak, and with a little more time, it could've been something. It has a little bit of something there but it's handled way too differently to really have the grandiose feeling that it really should've had, from where the story was going. Even worse, with the film feeling too short, it's over before it feels like it, and the with the grandiose feeling that it was going for, the quickness really detriments it from feeling that way. Otherwise, these here the film's really bad points. The Final Verdict: More of a conclusion to the series than anything else, this one here accomplishes the task rather well. This one is really only for the fans of the series or the incredibly interested, otherwise this one should be used with extreme caution.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Brief Nudity

I am very excited about the accuracy of prophecies. How human nature brings about the logic of man and his kingdom. In today's world the motives of men to establish a just and good society can not be overlooked with actions of terrorist who would call themselves patriots or the angels of their societies. The mirror images of the Twin Towers and the Brazilian government make for a testament to what man can build and destroy. To harness Gods force of nature and direct it must be awesome. As this film projects even the worst of mans fears invites heavens guardians to help guide them.Christopher Walken plays this role very well, although I appreciated him more in the original prophecy. I think the passion that he used in the movie The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is what most might expect of a dark angel. But as Robert DeNiro portrayed in Johnny Angel the power of wisdom by Gods hand is the moving force. Thus, I am equally satisfied with how Walken plays this dark guardian of heavens gate.

I think many people mistakenly classify these movies as "B" horror, and that's unfair. "The Ascent", in particular, has a few very profound moments, as well as a decent story, great dialogue and a depth that more than makes up for the occasional plot confusion and slightly lacking special effects. Christopher Walken delivers what I think is one of his best performances. If you like thoughtful movies that will keep you pondering past the credits, this is a good one. Even if you don't much care for the two that precede this one, it's worth a look. The "Prophecy" series does what too few trilogies do - saves the best for last.
