I have never written a review before, but this movie was so good i just had to share my opinion. It is the perfect horror movie and so far the scariest i have ever seen, keep in mind i have only seen a couple of other horror/slasher movies before (Scream, Psycho, The shining and the grudge). The movie starts of with a man jumping from a balcony, later we find out that he did this because the grudge kept on following and terrifying him. An American nurse is looking after a fellow American woman. The woman is considered a little bit "strange", she rarely talks and she is filled with fright all the time. This is because of the grudge living in her house. Later the battle between the grudge and the humans start, and the grudge kicks their ass. There are so many creepy scenes, for example the elevator scene. The nurse is on an elevator and (the viewer) sees the same boy appearing in every floor, getting closer to the nurse. The scene where the grudge appears on the hallway camera is also pretty terrifying. This is a terrific movie which everyone who enjoys horror should watch, the scenes are very intimidating, making you look behind your back whilst watching. The performances are solid and convincing. One of the best if not the best horror movie ever made.

The Grudge (2004) is an okay horror film. Sarah Michelle Gellar stars, and I think Sarah does do well in her role, but the cast/acting isn't really the issue I took with the movie. The problem I had with it was that it had many times where it was slow and just boring, didn't do a great job with keeping your attention. I also didn't enjoy Bill Pullman in his co-starring role, he didn't seem believable to me. The beginning isn't bad, but as the movie progresses towards the middle of the movie, it really does slow down. The visuals certainly aren't anything to write home about, just pretty average. I like Gellar, and I have enjoyed her in many roles, but I think this movie was a mistake, it just didn't entertain me and it seemed pretty average, maybe even below average at some points. 5/10 for The Grudge. My recommendation is to skip this one and keep looking if you're looking for a good horror movie that'll entertain and scare, there are plenty better ones out there.

This a remake of a Japan movie. The Japan movie from 2002 was awful and this remake is worst. I can't believe the director of Evil dead made this movie. I think it is hilarious that people are scared of this stupid movie. The Scream movies most have made them pooh there pants. Good actor wasted there talent being in this movie. Get special effects. Awful story line. Man kills his cat and his wife and son. So they ghost come back to kill every one. That is so stupid. It is not scary. This is not scary. It is an overrated pile of pooh. People think it is so smart because it is based one a foreign film. I can think of foreign films I like and it is not just because there foreign films and not from the U.S.A. There are a lot of U.S.A teen horror films that a really scary. And if you are really scared of this overrated crap. Then I can see why you don't like teen horror movies because they make you pee your pants

Some viewers may be confused by the constant jumping back and forth in time. This may be intentional; in one of the final scenes, we see that Peter (Bill Pullman) can sense the presence of Karen in the room some three years later.SPOILER ALERT: To straighten out the timeline, this is the order in which the thirteen deaths are shown: 7,5,6,8,9,10,4,11,1,2,3,12,13. That is, although Yoko's death is the first shown in the movie, it was actually the seventh to occur. The deaths occurred in this order: The Japanese woman Kayako and her son Toshio were murdered by her jealous husband Takeo, who then killed himself. Peter died shortly after (killed by the ghost of Toshio.) Three years later, Jean was killed, followed by her husband. Yoko arrived and was killed. The mother Emma died (and Karen ended up in the hospital. That evening, Susan (Emma's daughter) died, never having gotten word that her whole family was dead. Alex (Karen's boss) was killed by the ghost of Yoko) and the police inspector was killed by the ghost of the Takeo. Finally, Kayako's ghost killed Karen's boyfriend, and (ultimately) Karen.
