The beginning... to have all the supposed "victim" class present, eternal victim class, abducted by a maniacally brilliant evil white male who listens to ebil classical wayciss music...couldn't get past the first 5 minutes. White female savior tries to get the low IQ "coloreds" to help escape, the black man who has been there for a year could not figure out how to take the mask off until white female savior comes and within days solves the riddle of the plastic mask... the "mystery race" woman is useless so the only solution is" mental miscegenation"...white woman must "marry" black man to elevate his intelligence aka genes in order to escape the bdsm dungeon. I don't like miscegenation and I think its morally wrong, those are my beliefs. I like black shows with black folk and white shows with white folk and Latino shows with Latino folk. When Netflix throws this hard political BS at me I turn it off. they don't respect me so I don't respect them. I don't like them mixing BDSM with different races, I don't like BDSM at all and this is obviously a sad attempt by Netflix to make some type SJW 50 shades of gray where of course the white male must be ebil instead the actual wish fulfillment of the white female. I got this from the first 5 minutes and shut it off. I will not pollute my mind and I also have to make lists of movies my kids can watch.

Out of all the movies & shows I've watched this year, Tau is certainly one of the better ones. The start of the film has a completely different vibe from the rest of the movie though. If you were expecting a crazy & scary horror movie, I can see why you disliked Tau. The film did not contain nearly as much action as the trailers foretold. The reason I decided to watch Tau was mostly out of interest. I, unlike a lot of people apparently, enjoy most Netflix Originals. Tau popped up on Netflix one day and I added it to my list to watch later. I pulled up the reviews for this film and was VERY SURPRISED to see the incredibly low ratings. The synopsis just nagged at me and I decided to watch it anyways.Ignore all the terrible reviews and watch it on Netflix! You will not be disappointed. I enjoyed the ending, but at the same time I wish there was more. Hopefully a sequel can be arranged at some point, as I will definitely watch it!

There are many AI films out there, most of which end up being ridiculously preachy and try to beat the audience over the head with lessons about morality, how we treat others, etc. This movie doesn't do that. Tau delivers a very unique and enjoyable take on the AI experience. We get a really believable AI with a human counterpart. The two play off each others experiences perfectly, and deliver a truly riveting performance. We don't get the usual "AI taking over the world" cliche or the "I'm so human, please love me" idiocy. We get an AI that is truly inhuman, but still far more humane than most characters in such films. And we see a woman who is both victim and hero rolled into one, who for a change actually acts in intelligent and believable ways. This movie is a must see. Either enjoy it as a great sci-fi flick about AI, or as a wonderful drama about overcoming impossible odds (and honestly I'm not even a fan of most dramas). Definitely add this movie to your watch list. You won't regret it.

Do you hate movies which ignore the most basic of logic and self-set rules, in order to move forward? Then this movies is not for you! It could have made a movie about AI which is defective, it could have been a movie about AI which turns sentient, it could have been a movie about cold hard action and mindless murder. But no! It's none of the above. It's a forgettable hour and a half of about how there is neither meaning nor logic or consistency to machines; by which I mean the writers are too lazy to bother to create interesting or accurate story lines without glaring loop holes. But the acting is top-notch, the concept is fresh and the suspense is real.
