Superman vs The Elite is one of the darker animations of it's kind, and I liked that.Superman comes into contact with a new superpowered group calling themselves The Elite, but they have a different way of doing things and that brings them all into conflict. The Elite believe in killing the bad guys, and I sided with them throughout. Superman captures bad guys, they escape, countless people die, rinse wash repeat. I firmly believe that eradicating the threat makes more sense, and such a fear would also lower crime as well.Because of that I found myself disliking the hero and that's simply bad writing, he came across self righteous and this all built to a damaging finale. You see I was enjoying the film, it was one of the better DC outings I'd seen in a while so thats why the final 10 minutes were such a shame.Superman vs The Elite will be a fantastic watch for folks who believe in Supermans message, but if you're like me this was radiate disappointment. The Good:The Atomic Skull & Menagerie were greatWell scoredThe Bad:Superman looks goofy, like Solomon Grundys slow half brotherThis movie actually made me dislike SupermanNot keen on the endingThings I Learnt From This Movie:I firmly agree with The Elite over Superman4 vs 1 is a "Fair fight"
... View MoreThe Man of Steel finds himself outshone by a new team of ruthless superheroes who hold his idealism in contempt. Superman v.s The Elite is a great movie and that comes from someone that isn't so crazy about the man of Steel i liked the concept and the story but also the action and that Superman had to compete with some new heroes. My favorite scene is when Superman went insane and started killing everyone and his one eye was red and i was like aww my god did he just or didn't he? Although i would like it if he actually killed them i mean it would be a piece of cake he's an Alien from Space shooting lasers from his eyes and he can freeze anything with his breath and also he can fly so it could be way easy.
... View MoreThe driving force behind this animated movie is most definitely the premises. I just really like stories, where both opposing sides does have a point or at least can understand where they are coming from. Instead of it being a completely black and white movie. I like villain or anti-character like Black Manchester who is the epitome of a stereotypical Brit. The group called the Elite brings about this question that even most comic book readers may question. Why not just kill off the villains once and for all, instead of dragging it out to the point where they will cause more heinous deaths. I think the artwork should have been less goofy, since the premise and the story is actually quite serious. Plus the dialogue has meaning behind it and does make you question certain things. So yeah, besides the artwork I thought this was a interesting and meaningful animated superhero movie. This had the potential to be one of the best DC animated movies ever.7.9/10
... View MoreSuperman All Star was a waste of time for me, I didn't enjoy the moments spent watching it; maybe that is why I enjoyed this one. A step up in the area of story compared to All-Star and a step down in the area animation.Director Michael Chang, made good use of the time, as we see the dark side of being a hero, this movie mixes it all up, politics, economy and then people's opinion. It is easy to kill the bad guys once and for all, but Sup believes everyone deserves a fair trial, this belief leads to some of the villains breaking out of their holding cell or get released from jail and innocent people die as a result. That is my view, but that doesn't warrant anybody to go kill anyone. Killing means stooping to the levels of the villains, there must be a better way. That is Sups story. The Elite from England had a different perspective to this a view many share, a view that means if you are bad you are going down (down as in six feet under, dead). This led to the death of terrorists, villains and world leaders. Now looking at their view from a magnifying glass makes you wonder is violence the only answer? Is death the only option out? The movie deals with all this issues and never letting go of the fact that Superman is a goody goody. At one time Sup and the Elite were a team. When the truth of the Elite was exposed to Sup via Lois, the Elite and Sup drew a line and battle began. There in Metropolis the battle raged and it looked like Sup had gone rogue, as cars were flying here and there destruction in every corner, all being done by Sup himself, as he decides to show the Elite what it means to dish out fire for fire.Other than the fighting and the destruction (which were cool if I may add), the movie lacked a good story to link you from point A to B.Why they decided to settle for that mediocre animation is also something that is worth thinking about, the animation made me want to puke, I just never got use to it as the time passed. Is this a good deal? Well the choice is yours, you will like this flick if and only if, you are a fan of the man in tights.www.lagsreviews.com
