"Kat Carmichael" (Sarah Lieving) is a marine-biologist and former OIB agent who has made it her mission in life to investigate all possibilities of illegal actions committed by oil companies. So when an oil platform is destroyed and most of the workers are killed due to suspected illegal activities ordered by management she finds herself directly involved in the investigation. What neither she nor anybody else knows is that a giant prehistoric shark was released by its underwater confinement and is now headed their way—with an enormous appetite. Now, rather than reveal any more of this film and risk ruining it for those who haven't seen it I will just say that this movie had some potential. Now, that's not to say it fulfilled its potential. But at least it had some qualities which gave it potential. For example, I actually liked the acting of Tim Abell (as "Chuck"), Carolyn Martin (as "Tyler") and the aforementioned Sarah Lieving. Unfortunately, the special effects were weak and some of the scenes were just plain ridiculous. And that's putting it mildly. Very mildly indeed. In short, if you happen to like "shark movies" then you might enjoy this one. But I wouldn't count on it too much. Definitely below average.

This movie is not as bad as a lot of the ratings indicate. The shark is not that will done for a CGI. Why John Schneider acted in this movie is a little beyond me. I sure hope he didn't need the money. I mean he does a good job but this movie is adequate at best. I thought that Gina Gershon was in the movie until I realized it was Sarah Lieving. She seems like a clone of Gershon too me. There is some nice scenery in this movie for both sides of the fence. The shark is a travesty of computer CGI. No shark no matter how evolved can leap on to dry land for prey and get back in to the water. Unfortunately this a typical, all be it better done, SyFy movie with out the really cheesy stuff. A shark big enough to sink a Navy sub by just bashing it, just doesn't exist, except for the SyFy cretins. I rated this a 5 because even with all the faults if was watchable.

I watched this knowing it was going to be bad. A giant shark that flies, swims and walks on land and fights a walking tank what else would you expect? What I was hoping was for something to laugh at. Instead what I got was a bad movie trying to lecture me about the evils of oil companies and even throw in a mean spirited dig at Sara Palin. My question to the makers of this claptrap is did you use wind or solar powered equipment to make this? If not then you were powered by oil you so despise. The only appreciation I can have is the irony of a bad movie that only accomplished wasting energy in being made. This movie crossed the line from bad to insufferable.

Worst Movie Ever! Poor directing, poor acting, poor scientific knowledge, poor music to poor special effects this movie has it all. Yes, I understand that the art of a creature feature is of a (almost) poor execution that makes you smile and gives you the pleasure of spotting a few flaws. However, this is simply unforgivable to me. The more sympathetic of you may see a redeeming feature in the fact that the sheer audacity for someone to make such a terrible film will leave you laughing to the high heavens. However, it more than likely that the unintentional comedy will be overshadowed by the realisation that you have wasted your time and you will never get it back. More productive uses of your time could be watching paint dry, watching grass grow and sticking corn back on to the cob. If you do want to see a cheesy creature feature about sharks at least for your own sake stick to mega shark or spend the next 20 minutes after the movie on IMDb warning readers of the perils of taking a chance on a disastrous creature feature.
