There seem to be far too many negatives immediately attached to a film just because it was made on a "low budget." It is as though costs alone represent the film's value. Today, very good movies can be made at remarkably low cost due to the broad availability of high quality HDV cameras, the lessened need for extensive lighting setups, reduced space for sets and equipment, and the ease of mobility from place to place. Additionally, skill bases such as Cinematographer, Camera Operator and Director can be combined into one person as can other skills. The result is a need for fewer crew members. There is an abundance of extremely good, easy to use, digital editing and special effects software one can use at home or office. The number of people who have gained film skills, from pre-production through post, is extraordinary. All this saves money. What is left is how well those film makers spent it and the end result.Storage 24 is an example of talented people doing just that. They've managed to make a suspenseful sci-fi thriller with some class. It is entertaining - and, in the end, isn't that what it's all about?Storage 24 has a good script by Noel Clarke, a capable Director in Johannes Roberts, and solid production values. The cinematography, by Tim Sidell, is commendable, as is the editing by Martin Brinkler. The dialogue, though not worthy of Shakespeare as some would demand, is believable. The acting is realistic and not over the top as in many films - Noel Clarke, Colin O'Donoghue and Ned Dennehy offer solid performances. The special effects are good while not saturating the film. The creature is… well, a very scary creature. All in all, this is a well made film, with an interesting story line. I recommend it… but lay aside any assumptions you may have about "low budget" films.

Uninspired but Not Awful Ultra-Low-Budget British Monster Movie. It is Mildly Entertaining but Lacks Anything New. The Monster is a Respectable Reptilian Alien Clone with Razor Claws for the Obligatory Slasher/Gore Scenes and a Face/Jaw that Defies Description, Suffice to Say it is a Mish Mash of Polywash. The Acting is Acceptable and the Writing Less So. The Film Seems Tired, or Worn Out, or Maybe it Knows that it is Retreading Retreads and its going to Fall Apart at Any Minute. But it does Manage to Hold Together for a Twist Ending, but Not Before there are Some Genre Scenes that are Expected but Not Exceptional.Overall for Horror Completest and Die-Hard B-Movie Fans. Others can Skip It without Guilt because its Greatest Flaw is that it doesn't seem to be Affectionate for its Own Creative Efforts. The Filmmakers are Found to be just going through the motions.

So, I watched this movie on Netflix after reading an news report that it made like $42 in the theaters and wonder why. I can now say I understand why. I would have thought it would do good since it has an actor from Doctor Who and an actor from Once Upon a Time but really, the story line was a bit old. Spoiler alert at this point. The whole idea of people trapped in a building with a creature trying to kill them has been over done. I did like some of the ways people did die but the tension between actors was so forced that I could not help but laugh. I hate to say this, but there should not be a sequel to this movie even if the movie made it out to be. I do give credit, the monster was a unique and I think the most interesting character in the whole movie. 3 out of 10 was being nice, but I have seen worse.

After a plane crash in central London, a group in a storage containment facility find themselves trapped inside with the vicious alien creature released during the crash and must try to fight if off in order to get out alive. This turned out to be a rather decent enough creature feature. One of the more enduring elements to this one is the fact that there's a refreshing simplicity to how it plays out, as the film's basically a one-note plot that really goes on through the notes quite efficiently and effectively to where it becomes routine more than anything about what goes on It consistently turns into confrontation, escape, confrontation, escape which is plenty of fun due to the tight, cramped location to work with the rather convoluted layout of the area and the continuous encounters where the creature chases them through heating ducts, storage units and throughout the building itself that the scenes make for a rather creepy and exciting set of action. The fact that the alien creature here is quite imposing is where it really helps score a little extra as well because the otherworldly appearance, as the spiked mouth, tentacled fingers and humanoid body create a powerful enough figure without seeing too much of it to lessen it's visual appeal as the creature really helps generate a lot of good marks during the film as the repetitive, action-packed nature of the film results in a creepy monster stalking and attacking people trapped in a creepy location, only to escape and run into it later on so there's a sense of familiarity to this as it goes on which can lower this somewhat. As well, the film's blatant disregard for information-revealing is a bit of a problem as it tends to keep so many ideas and plot-points completely unknown to the viewer about the alien creature, what happened to it and the fates of several characters, and about the only plot-point to this that doesn't work is the long build-up here that results in some painful amount of time not going anywhere due to the aggravation of the animosity towards each other. Otherwise, this is a fine effort.Rated R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.
