Skinwalkers Trailers

Creatures, bound by the blood of the wolf, that can kill with curses and move at lightening speed, watching the night sky for the rise of the blood-red crescent moon. They are SKINWALKERS. They feed on our flesh and thirst for the taste of human blood. The red moon signals each pack, divided by principles, hell bent to survive an ancient prophecy.

Had this movie branded itself about being about werewolves it be pretty decent, calling it skinwalkers was very disappointing.. skinwalkers and werewolves are not the same at all and not a lot of people have done skinwalker movies, so instead of having a much more original idea and use some of the more unique lore of skinwalkers, they went with the boring old werewolf story thats been done a million times already. 2/10 because if it labeled itself as a werewolf movie it would be fine, but this movie annoyed me so much that for the first time in my life i feel compeled to write a review on something.

OK so at the end of this movie you find out that this boy's blood can cure the werewolf curse but ONLY if you have it in your system. So basically they were after him thinking on the day of his 13th birthday they would all be cured but really they could only be cured if they drank his blood or was injected with it. So everyone died on here for nothing. The bad guys would have still been werewolves if they didn't try to kill him and the whole movie was just was pointless after you found all of that stuff out. Another thing that made me mad about this movie was that that stupid woman took that man back after he tried to kill their son and he killed his own brother.

I am commenting ONLY to make one point: THANK GOD the makers of this movie chose to use REAL actors with makeup effects. I have often lamented the use of CGI in films ranging from Deep Blue Sea to, well, name it. Remember when Spielberg used Bruce to create the illusion of Jaws? That movie still scares people and it does so for one reason only: we know it isn't a real shark, but we are able (if we choose) to suspend our disbelief because the creature (i.e. robotic shark) is actually on camera with the actors and they interact with it. Well, the same happens in Skinwalkers. I thought the acting was very good, and it was shot perfectly (e.g. lighting). When the Skinwalkers finally change form I was hesitant, waiting for the CGI, but none (that I noticed) appeared - this was good old fashioned WORK - apply make up (thanks Stan Winston) and acting. WATCH this movie for this reason if for none other - it reminds one what a movie with fantastic (i.e. fantasy) characters SHOULD be: as real as it can possible be. We will never believe that computer generated effects are real, and they totally stop the story for anyone over the age of twelve. Thank you to those responsible for this choice. And as for those film producers who still insist on clinging to CGI - revisit the classics, whether Winston or Savini - these are the masters of the genre to whom you owe your career. Stop insulting their legacy and start honouring it with some actual effort. I think this was a good story and an entertaining flick!

To those that say this is the worse movie of all time, You're all trippin'. This is hardly the worse movie ever. I am a big fan of the werewolf genre and I think this is a fine addition. Werewolf movies are always difficult because, lets face it, were-wolfs are hard to create on screen; you can go either all CGI or all makeup and either way looks fake as hell...they're just hard to do. That being said. this movie does alright. i think the makers know their budget limitations and do their best to work around it. I think it still does alright. Great gunfights. Good costume design. Nice pacing. The werewolves look alright, not great, but passable. Skinwalkers is certainly worth a rental, though i certainly would not put it up for an Oscar. Forget the haters and rent it if you are a fan of the genre.
