Sometimes, when there is a lack of budget, infusing a film with a sense of dark humour can compensate. It seems to me that director/writer Rene Perez embraces this and never lets his production take itself too seriously. This filters through to the actors too, who may not be truly convincing, but seem to be enjoying themselves, and that enjoyment is somewhat infectious. The storyline is also suitably odd. A group of four financially embarrassed wannabes are brought together to take part in a reality television show in an expansive shack in the middle of a deep forest with no internet, and no signal for cell phones. As the gravel-voiced hostess announces, it is best not to set fire to the house, as there will be no-one remotely near to put it out. What would health and safety say? And yet, there is someone watching, a chain-smoking, well-dressed millionaire type (played by Richard Tyson), who observes all from a variety of cameras dotted about the place. This is the sequel to 'Playing with Dolls (2015)', also spearheaded by Perez and starring Tyson alongside Natasha Blasick. A further instalment, 'Playing with Dolls: Havoc' was released in 2017.Back to this, and the two star-struck females Stina (Karin Brauns) and Nico (Elonda Seawood) are quite clearly hired for their physical (and surgically enhanced) looks, but then, if this really was a reality show, then that would be true to form. The girls are empty-headed but quite likeable. The killer, who appears not be an actor, but a real murderer - in which case, do the producers know this? - pops up from time to time and dispatches people and bizarrely, remains unseen by the rest. The further we get into this, the less I understand it. Here's a spoiler: Trina, the last survivor, is told she has won the prize of a million dollars. What does she think has happened to the others? Clearly she's not bothered! Sadly, no-one seems to have told the killer, who ties her up and begins to torture her in some pretty grisly scenes - after which, he gives her a hearty pat on the shoulder!Colin Bryant, who is hugely built, plays Magnus, the hero. In another spoiler, he hasn't perished after all and he and Stina elect to fight the masked killer. A couple of minutes into the scrap, watched by Tyson ... the end credits roll! Is this a cliff-hanger or did they just run out of money?Despite the head-melting incomprehensibility of it all, I really rather enjoyed this. The direction is good, the masked killer looks formidable and there are some very gory moments. The weirdness of it all convinced me to keep watching to see what would happen next. A project that relishes its own oddness.

After the first film left a pretty shitty taste in my mouth, I didn't think there would be even so much as a hint of there being a sequel! How wrong was IWas in Morrison's one day in the DVD isle last month in January, new year means new releases & me being a horror guru always have to check out the DVD isle & came across this...now I didn't know this was what the film was title as...Playing With Dolls: Bloodlust, I saw & bought a film as Leatherface, apparently in our country, the UK it's titled differently with a ripoff like title! Hell the first was so bad I'm surprised they didn't use this technique all over & have it on here as Leatherface! Jesus! Any thing to get a pound out of people! I knew the killer on the cover looked somewhat similar, but I bought it anyway. It was only until then, from closer inspection, from the cast & crew that I realised that this was the sequel, from Googling to a strong inkling, though I horrifyingly thought for a split second that I had purchased the same film, I got rid of Playing With Dolls in Cex, but fortunately this wasn't, though I was apprehensive & almost sorry I got rid of the other as I had a feeling this one might continue on, though I didn't think so...how right I was!The film was flat out crap! Aside from the honey bun actress, Natasha Blastick! The film was boring & had no gory action the first one had! Hell the blood effects were either crap, or too small in use amounts it was terrible. There's no group of friend, nor any proper premise. There's no real set up or anything here, it just seems badly slapped together & lacking in action. There was no continuation of the story-line, nor any connection with the first film, I also felt this one lacked badly in deaths & action. The first even done well at this & even setting the film up, it was a hell of a lot better than this, the ending to the first was out right rude!!The ending to this one however, wasn't so bad, but I was still horrified by it & how I had so many unanswered questions! It simply left me feeling cheated! I was hoping this one would be better & end better, seeing as how the first was a real let down in the ending factor! It was basically unfinished! While this lacked & had a pretty inconclusive ending!Nice job with them trying to pull the wool over my eyes with that title, I would've thought twice before buying this,. though I would've anyway to see but it's simply chump change in comparison to how much they spent making this trollop! The irony here is the film had the story & semi OK ending, which I would much preferred in the first, yet the first film had the action, gore & story but lacked the ending! So you can see what I'm getting at here! If the first had a more complete ending or at least the ending the second one did, then I'd of kept it. But this film lacked & makes watching it on a free website seem justifiable. 2/10 Really not as good as the first, though the first was crap too, ending wise so it's hard to say which is worse...!

This is by far the worst movie I have ever seen, from start to ending. I don't see how this could have been released in the first place. I hope this isn't going to set the trend for horror movies in 2016. Me and a bunch of my friends could have made a better movie in our back yard loll! Just how bad is it? Well take it like this....... I have never written a comment or review about a movie before. no matter how good or bad a movie is. But in this case, I just can't contain my disgust, it's just that bad, don't watch it. Iv'e never been so upset about having wasted my time before. unbelievable. Sheez. I also feel sorry for the actors in this movie, if they thought this was going to make them famous.

This movie has to be the worst thing I have ever laid eyes on yet, I was unable to turn it off giving it a score of 10/10. It featured everything you want in a movie from acting that looks as though it was dubbed over with the original actors voice in a batman "kapow" "URGH!" manner. The special effects were amazing though, they must have spent upwards of $15 on the makeup and $500 on the rent of the cabin.I hope the director/producer/story editor/... Rene whats-his-name who did everything, probably shot the movie himself uses a bigger SD card next time so we get to see the ending of his next film.
