When your 7yo Son is all about, Marvel, Adventure & Action. We really didn't think Peter Rabbit would be the movie to match his interest. Little did we know, this family movie caters for all family members regardless of their interests. So much comedy! Our 7yo son wanted to watch it again straight after! - this rarely happens!
... View MoreHave you ever read the picture book of Peter Rabbit? Even if you haven't, don't worry. You can still enjoy the movie. As you may know, Peter Rabbit is a story of a naughty rabbit boy and his family battling with Mcgregor. Yet, in the film version, some characters are different, which partly makes it possible for anyone to enjoy the film, and the story is more than adventurous. It is very difficult to describe the film accurately as it has various elements; adventures, romance, family-tie, and friendship. Indeed, this is not a film just for children. I watched it with a friend of mine. After watching it, he said, "The movie made me think (about many things)," and I could not agree with him more. The final decision Petter and his friends reached was something very suggestive. One of the messages is the importance of sharing. Sharing lands and sharing love to name a few. These cores of the story are hidden but you will realize when you finish watching. I never imagined that I would be taught such lesson watching Peter Rabbit, but because the movie hit the perfect balance between entertainment and caution, it was actually enjoyable, coupled with cheerful musics.

It was a slapstick, by the numbers, not very good script, and crucially over violent children's movie that captured none of the quaint charm of the original tale and instead decided to push an aggressively violent streak, that I felt embarrassed exposing my child to. There were some serious depictions of electrocution and hard falls and hits, played for laughs but rendered for reality. Who were they making this film for? I don't think the film makers knew and it failed and worse left a mean after taste. If this is what passes for funny in the modern world then we're in trouble, and I guess we are in trouble.
... View MoreWhen i first heard of peter rabbit as a child i grew up with the books as well as the family channel animated/live action tv show in the early 90s. So when the teaser for the 2018 version came out i was like whaaa....turns out the film exceeded my expectations and is among the funniest movies you'll ever see!!! James Corden plays the voice of the computer generated Peter Rabbit, along with some cast members from the last two star wars episodes as well as the talents of Sony Pictures Animation, in a live action/CGI Roger Rabbit style comedic romp with a killer soundtrack and some PG humor that's not for kiddies. Stay before the smaller credits roll for a bonus scene that hints at a sequel which will come out in 2020!!!
