After his success with the Lord of the Rings, Jackson (like Martin with his endless Game of thrones books) needs to hire an editor. I'm also thinking his success with LOTR was a fluke since his version of this and the Hobbit, both suck. This is miscast, overlong and overdone. By the time the crew reaches Skull Island in this, the original, superior movie is OVER. Not every movie has to be three hours long. Also, if it's the middle of January, how is the heroine running around in NYC in a shift? He tried and failed to make a classic. STOP REMAKES!

He is much taller than the people ... A delightful, beautiful and very interesting film. Everything looks the same in one breath. Eyes every second enjoys the picture and everything on the screen, the rumor rejoices in a global explosion of sound, the brain absorbs a familiar scenario, the heart knocks after every step and roar, and at the end of this whole great idea, you are satisfied, upset, and in love. I am pleased with what I saw not long ago, this is really the greatest adventure in cinema, from which emotions, chaotic walk in front of the screen, causing to experience all actions together with those who really deserve this experience. I was upset when I saw that people were free to try on the shell of the animal, and the animal, on the contrary, tried to throw it off.Of course, there was an excuse for the American residents, they say, the times of great depression, millions of unemployed, poor and sick, but it immediately disappeared after it became clear that this is an excuse, probably would have occurred to them and they would. I fell in love with a huge monster, in his facial expressions, actions, experiences, and against his background, I completely overlooked the game of excellent actors who, under the pressure of my interest, lost in the nines to the computer animal as soon as it appeared on the screen. This is a wonderful film, and all the fireworks of graphics, drive, and sounds, so competently add each other that under the influence of an equally impressive, albeit familiar scenario, the picture really acquires a keen interest, which is difficult to tear off, even under such a load of time 3 hours. It really takes time, but it really is worth it. The animal that loses in the face of happy people is actually higher than all of them, and the people are demonstratively down to the very beginning, when everything was decided by force. A very good phrase says about his colleague the character Endrian Brody. "... he has a very amazing quality, he destroys everything that he begins to love ...", I think in our time, this phrase refers to a part of humanity whose love has an artificial concept and has an exclusively self-serving purpose.10 of 10

The pacing was way too slow. Mr. Jackson took a great 1.5 hour monster movie, and stretched it to 3+ hours. It had it's great parts for sure and the CG still looks good, there's some good action and story beats but you just get bored and want it to end, not to mention how many plot holes there are, and how many questions you're left with in the end.

King Kong is a beautiful, nuanced film that has become a much loved classic. This is not that film.Jackson strings out a simple, thrilling story to nearly 3 hours. It suffers in the process, with far too many "look how clever I am" CGI effects and not nearly enough tight editing to remove the rubbish and focus the story and characters.
