Nothing here folks, just a boring movie about a rich spoilt woman who loses her consciousness in an accident and ends up marrying a redneck and his family. Though both Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are more than competent the film never really picks pace and sort of trudges along. There are some laughs to be had but all in all this is a moot film, a simple cash grab in my opinion. If you really want to watch a comedy there are far better options out there.

As I said the film would have been better as a thriller or suspense horror because of what Kurt Russel does. Ok, so Kirt Russels character is a handyman with a couple of kids and there is no mother. Goldie Hawn's charecter is a posh stuck-up rich brat basiccly she falls of a boat and gets amnesia. Then being the morally right perfect citizen that he is Kurt Russel goes to the hospital and claims that Goldie Hawn is his wife so she goes home with Kurt Russel. Who tells her that they have been married for quite some time and that his kids are also her kids. Then he practically makes her into his slave she is forced to wash the dishes, clean and dust the house and look after his kids. This all happening as his sick and twisted form of revenge. Then she found out the truth; about her past life and what does she do? Stays with him, SHE STAYS WITH HIM! In conclusion this film was basically a twisted dark look into what vengeance can do to a person. Would have probably been good if it was, as I've said a thriller or suspense horror. This film will probably only be enjoyable as a quick pass time as long as you don't look into it that much. If not you could probably only enjoy it if you are extremely drunk, high in drugs or have mush for brains. DONT WATCH THIS (for your own good)!

This is a good "revenge" comedy where snobbish rich lady Goldie Hawn treats carpenter Kurt Russell like dirt after he doesn't do a job right-in fact, she pretty much treats everyone that way. After she falls off her yacht and gets amnesia, he finds her and gets revenge by reinventing her as his "wife." Hilarity ensues, as does formula. This is funny and enjoyable and a good showcase for the stars. I really liked it. The opening scenes on the yacht were my favorites, like with Hawn's disapproval over the cabinets Russell had built and the scene with the caviar. I also liked the hospital scenes. You will like it too.*** out of ****

Directed by Gary Marshall and one of his best. Essentially both a fable and a 30's-style "Screwball Comedy". Goldie Hawn (Joanna) has terrific fun playing the "rich and spoiled bitch" who gets taken down a peg or two by a "backwoodsman" carpenter (Kurt Russell as "Dean Proffitt") in rural Oregon. He is a widower, saddled with 4 unruly boys and she lives in the lap of luxury with a yacht and mansion. She throws him overboard with his tools, after "stiffing" him on a very clever $600 shoe-closet remake because "it's not made of cedar". She later falls overboard herself, trying to retrieve her diamond ring which has also fallen overboard. She wakes up in the hospital with amnesia and Dean claims her as his wife "Annie". Although he recognizes her from the news and TV, Joanna's husband does not do anything about it. He takes advantage of the situation to play around with other women. Dean dresses "Annie" in rags and saddles her with an endless gauntlet of chores which she handles surprisingly well! Of course she eventually falls in love with Dean and rejects her useless former life when she recovers her memory. Paramount to the plot is a tiny identifying birthmark on her back "cheek" which is fuzzed out in the "cable" version. Predictable? You bet. A lot of fun? Of course. Roddy McDowall as "the butler" and Edward Hermann as Joanna's playboy husband add a lot to the cast. A few "blue-nosed" reviewers disliked the fact that Dean "gets into bed" with "Annie" as they are not really married. That's so ironic, as the two have been happily-never-married for over 35 years in real life!
