I just wrote a whole review but " an error occurred". I can't remember what i even wrote but basically this was a funny film. My side hurts from laughing stitches and my voice hurts I laughed that hard. It's great fun not to get caught up into the plot of movies but this just lets you sit back and.... enjoy(?) the killing suspense. ( pun intended :) This was my mothers most memorable film and she kindly suggest this amazingly tragically grafic film. I AM NOT DISSAPOINTED!!!!!!!! It's great fun and deserves all of the stars I gave it :)

The one thing I really liked about Night Of The Lepus was the depiction of that vast army of supersized rabbits. Otherwise a whole lot of familiar players look like they're in some kind of discomfort doing this science fiction epic.Rabbits do two things very well, they multiply and they eat. The famous introduction of them to Australia is used as an example when they were imported to Australia and become ravaging the food supply. The same thing is happening in the Southwest USA. One of those effected is rancher Rory Calhoun. He sends for scientific type help and he gets Professor Stuart Whitman and wife Janet Leigh who bring their little daughter with them.Whitman doesn't play this like Dr. Frankenstein, but he's decided on some radical experimentation with hormones. Does it ever grow wrong with rabbits growing to be the size of SUVs.This was produced by A.C. Lyles of the geezer westerns of the Sixties. I wish he had stuck to those.

It's safe to assume that this is the only film you'll ever see that contains the line "there is a herd of killer rabbits headed this way." A really lousy thriller about giant rabbits terrorizing an Arizona town. Scientists Stuart Whitman & Janet Leigh inject a rabbit with a serum to help eliminate a growing Lepus problem. Their dim-witted daughter steals the rabbit and loses it out in the wild. Mayhem ensues in the form of some very bad special effects. This claptrap is not helped by some very stodgy acting (particularly by Rory Calhoun as a nature loving rancher) and very inert direction by William F. Claxton. Paul Fix and DeForest Kelley (sporting a mustache) are in it too. Claxton directed a number of great TWILIGHT ZONE episodes but had only a marginal film career. There's an OK music score by Jimmie Haskell, whose work as a composer consisted of scoring primarily exploitation films while he maintained a prolific career as an music arranger on such A-movies as THE COLOR PURPLE & BIG.

This one is for the books! If thought of killer rabbits (No, not the ones from Monty Python's "Holy Grail") scare you, then this is your movie. Apparently, these babies go ape s*** and decide to attack people that are dumb enough to stand there and scream, while trying to keep a straight face. I don't want to ruin the ground breaking plot (yeah, right) to you, just sit back, watch and be prepared to laugh yourself off the couch. I gave this 10 out of 10 because your not sure whether to laugh, have a shocked look on your face that you are watching this mess, or are feeling sorry for the top name actors appearing in this. Trust me, a howling good/bad time!
