I watch this film many, many times, at least once a week, and I always feel such a pleasure. It is a rare script for our time. There is no blood, murders, brutal exposed sex, violence, cruelty, sadism, vampires, lesbians. All those things that inundate the screen in these days purposely. Just beautiful fairy-tail, well written story, with beautiful actors and actresses, shot in stunning, amazing locations. What is better than that, to watch a film without counting the dead, ferociously murdered people? For some it could be a naive film, but it is a film, one on thousands, shot in the last years without violence and crimes. This is one of the few films that you can watch and relax and enjoy it. I wish there would be more films like this one. Thank you to the writer and director who gave me that pleasure. Make more!

As a starting point, Princess Protection and Another Cinderella Story made me hope for a lot from Selena Gomez features. Waverley told me not to always expect that.Compare Ramona And Beezus (2010) with this Monte Carlo (2011) First viewing, both felt watchable but not all that special. From the second viewing Ramona And Beezus took off, for me. I now consider it as impressive wow level, even better than what I hoped for. I am surprised that I could not find a Blu-ray of this.Monte Carlo, why did this still feel as not all that great? It starts in a way that says I should expect a lot, the opening set to Blow Away, by A Fine Frenzy, a Selena sound-alike of pure positive magnetic appeal. Except that soon I was finding the story to be watchable but not so magnetic, other than when soundtrack stuff such as Tweedle Dee, by Line Renaud, is happening. Then, when I was going slowly through the feature to try to identify which soundtrack song was where, the whole thing seemed to have power at the level of Ramona. I can now really like this story, even at full speed.Looking at the recent IMDb reviews, some others do not appear to have noticed a problem, while others noticed the flatness and understood that in different ways. First I read that as showing how difficult the post production stage is to get right. This feature has a fairly low IMDb rating, but it is capable of being extremely enjoyable.

This is basically a romantic comedy of 3 American girls on summer holiday in France finding romance and revealing to themselves who they really are.Missing that tour bus leads to a madcap adventure when one of the girls is mistaken for resembling a British heiress, the latter being quite nasty to say the least.Romance abounds for the three women as they are wined and dined at Monte Carlo where the nasty one was supposed to be.There are some inane moments, but the picture is basically a satisfying one as the girls find adventure by being at the right place at the right time.As for our nasty heiress, she does receive an awakening of what life should be about and that in itself makes this a film worthy of praise.

That's more or less the translation of the German title the movie got. And while it does prove to be right (about the plot), it is most certainly not right about the experience you'll have watching this. Unless you are teenage girl that is and just like the magic of it all, this will more likely offend your every sense. The jokes can be seen from a mile of, at least. There is a sense that there was no acting allowed on the set and it also feels as if they had a checklist of every possible cliché they could find. While this makes it painfully obvious that I wasn't the target audience, it's still no excuse for the poor execution. Even if the cast seemed to have the time of their life, it doesn't translate into a good movie
