Not often is a horror trilogy wrapped quite as well as The Lost Boys films. A well-developed continuous storyline throughout multiple films is sometimes all that's needed to become something great. It's refreshing to see characters face adversity through time rather than a typical cliché slasher sequel with no end goal or relativity. It's hard not to have a soft spot for The Thirst, the film having played tremendous homage to the late Corey Haim. Flashback scenes with Haim are reminisced, as Corey Feldman's character, Edgar Frog, sees the end of his long battle with vampires about to end.Contrary to many poor opinions by Lost Boys fans or horror fans, The Thirst never did have a dull moment. A wealth of newly introduced characters were interesting and well-developed, all led by Corey Feldman, who finally was the primary character. It was fun to see Edgar Frog's dismissive personality throughout the entire film. His dialogue was great having some throwback and memorable lines. Writing however, was a key issue, the ending fell flat apart needing a stronger head-vampire. Among the head-vampire were other problematic scenes towards and at the dreck of an ending. The Tribe and The Thirst tend to be pretty polarizing, nobody thinking saying there spectacular, but a little more credit should be given, since they're both highly entertaining.

I must admit, my expectations weren't too high for this one after 'Lost Boys: The Tribe'. The film was entertaining for what it was, but it wasn't a "Lost Boys" movie for me. More of a modern update / remake that was marketed as some sort of sequel. Essentially it was like the first only not as good.'Lost Boys: The Thirst' is a whole different affair. It's very obvious from the get go that this is a movie for us FANS. With it's subtle reference of "Washington D.C......the other murder capital" within the first ten seconds of the flick. Here we have Edgar Frog, with a few problems. First off, we have his brother Alan "turned", and the fact that Edgar might also be losing his residence of living. Even worse for him is the fact that he's clearly grieving the loss of his friend Sam(Corey Haim RIP). So it's pretty safe to say all is not looking well for poor Edgar. But then comes a glimmer of hope in the form of an author of a series of books, who wants Edgar to help her get back her kidnapped brother from a group of vamps led by 'DJ X'. What's even funnier to me is that the author is clearly inspired by Stephanie Meyer(Of 'Twilight' awfulness). What follows is a very fun ride that is classic 'Lost Boys'. Lots of blood and a fair bit of humour. The lines just get funnier from Edgar. there is so many things I really liked about this one. For one, the plot was far better and even more surprising than I ever hoped. Of course there's a lot more to this flick but I don't want to give too much away. If you're a fan like I am then you should like / even love this one. One scene of note worth is Edgar's visit to Sam's grave. I was very surprised by it and it is a fitting tribute to Corey Haim. Even though Haim was technically still living when they filmed it, the fact that he died not longer after is a somewhat haunting thought in itself. Make time for it, it's a good sequel and it completely makes up for 'The Tribe'. I give it 9/10 for pure entertainment. It's not the best film ever, it does have it's flaws... but it's definitely better than 'Twilight' by miles. It's proof that real vampires(and vampire films)are still around at least.

Did I watch the same movie as everyone else? My expectations for this movie were not high, but it was worse than I had anticipated. It was really hard to sit through the entire thing. I'm sorry but Corey Feldman is not a good actor and should not be tasked with carrying an entire movie. He growls nearly every line he delivers. I truly love the original, and don't think I could have been more disappointed with its sequel. Then again I have yet to watch the 2nd.I am nowhere near an expert movie reviewer, but felt compelled to register on this site to warn anyone thinking of watching this movie. If you are curious about it, do yourself a favor and get it from Redbox or Netflix. Do not spend more than .99 on it.
