KILLERS FROM SPACE is a typically cheap and cheerful science fiction B-movie of the 1950s, notable for featuring MISSION IMPOSSIBLE actor Peter Graves in an early role. It's best known as the movie that features a bunch of goofy aliens hanging around in a cavern who possess these crazy ping-pong ball eyes which look absolutely ridiculous, so it was a hoot for me every time they appear on screen. The film's plot is lightweight and everything's rather cheap and silly, but Graves certainly seems commited to his performance which helps things a bit, and you have to love those aliens. It's no INVADERS FROM MARS, but you could do worse.
... View MoreDefinite B-grade mid 50's sci-fi. An air force pilot of experimental aircraft (I think) crash lands and when the proper authorities go to recover his body from the wreckage; POOF, what happens? Why he's gone. Later, to everyone's surprise he shoes up wandering in a daze with what appears to be major surgery performed on him. He has no recollection of this and starts having creepy dreams. After he starts acting eractically and even dangerously he is given truth serum and recalls his abduction by space aliens with pop eyes and grandiose plans to take over the Earth. Now said pilot must foil their aims with nukes. Absolutely poor effects, but an OK Saturday afternoon time-passer. The Film Detective DVD-R claims to be restored but it is not, and the Alpha Video DVD is mediocre quality at best. The best version is a DVD-R with great cover art I obtained elsewhere. That is the one to get. Recommended for fans of B 50's sci-fi.

It has it all, bad actors giving really stupid dialog, giant insects and reptiles, aliens with a plot to take over the earth, stupid actions by stupid characters, flying machines. What more could you ask for? Best watched with a big bowl of popcorn and friends to share all the laughs with.
... View MoreEAGGGH .. oh that's another film... well then, KILLERS FROM SPACE elicits the same reaction: and looks like a 70 minute shortened version of THE PHANTOM serial but filmed at the Republic cave sets and studio kitchen corners, but released by RKO. The most shocking and even incomprehensibly startling thing about this LOST PLANET level gibberish is that RKO released it on a double bill with a musical: THE FRENCH LINE...!! For a genuine 'what the...' reaction imagine the crowds flocking to see Jane Russell shake her tuille feather and instead get Peter Graves solemnly saving earth from aliens who look like cinema projectionists in overalls and cummerbunds... and ping pong ball eyes. What a joke! and this in the days when adults went to see THE FRENCH LINE and got this junk first instead. A musical and a kiddie sci fi episode. No wonder the industry died the death of a mangy dog in 1957.
