First of all , I must say that at first look this movie looks like some low budget Australian garbage , The big surprise is that it has some descent actors that delivered the messege very nicely and a very good story . I started watching the movie with low expectations and got hooked up with the story-line .I can gladly say that the storyline is packed with some nice twists . I would gladly give this movie a solid 10 if it wasn't for the Directing job and some flucks that i found while watching it ,i guess there is no perfect movie anyway.. In conclusion i would strongly recommend this movie to every grown up out there, And i hope it will get a little bigger recognition in the future.

This is thriller that will get you thinking. There's a part of me that supports the whole concept of vigilantes given how inadequate our court system can be in Australia. Then there the part that says no matter what, there's no place for vigilantes.Again, this movie will make you think a bit about where things are at and where your morals and ethics are.The acting was fine, not great, but it worked for this movie. The scenes were graphic enough for those looking for that, to be interested. The ending wasn't what I expected, but I won't give it away (I thought it was a good ending, though!!!!)

I made an account just to review this film, I would recommend to check this movie out. I tend to have a low tolerance when it comes to action movies, and sometimes even less for a B- grade but this film was remarkable, it could easily contend with a lot of the stuff Hollywood is pumping out lately in the action/suspense field. I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, I read lots of positive reviews and decided to give it a shot. Upon the opening titles and seeing studios I had never heard of I was bracing myself for the worst of the worst in low budget. I was born in Australia and I know the quality of Aus films aren't always that appealing or, well, good. Whilst I was somewhat apprehensive to start with the movie had no trouble entirely gripping me throughout.Initially the story-telling seemed either a bit jumpy or vague for the "set-up" phase of the movie where we are introduced to to the plot and main characters, although I feel it was used effectively to gain momentum.I was blown away by the subject matter in the film it is outstanding for a modern movie, it's also a very bold step for Australian cinema as usually films can bring a very conservative or intentionally 'out there' feel. This film will make you think. It deals with gray areas of life in a way that it may even get you worked up in your seat. I tried to watch a standard Hollywood action blockbuster today but after John Doe, it felt like it was playing out more like a Disney movie in comparison and I had to shut it off, I don't remember the last time a film has done that to me.The casting and writing was almost immaculate, actors were very capable and many even seemed like types of people you really would actually come across in Australia. I feel the combination of those things made the whole plot much, much more immersive. The pacing was refreshing and the vast amount of conversation did not slow the action at all. if anything dialogue was enhancing the action because it was so thought-provoking. There were a couple of moments I found myself thinking all the stops had been pulled and the rest of the film was to be of a courtroom (or of something to that 'thrilling' effect) only to be impressed again and again until the credits rolled. The only negatives I can think of are the quality of the very minimally used CGI explosions, and the choppiness of the very final scene (which I would imagine had to do with the fact it involved trying to depict Assault Rifles in front of Melbourne's Parliament house)In summary, this is not your standard action/thriller movie. I believe this is something special. I felt overwhelmingly proud of the Australian film industry after seeing this. It was so surreal to see the parts of Australia I know so well in a movie that I kept thinking was from Hollywood, almost felt starstruck. And if the accents weren't quite so genuine you'd probably think it was a US film if you didn't know about it beforehand. If you're thinking about watching this movie I'd urge you to check it out, even if it's just as a time killer, you will not be disappointed. I will definitely be watching John Doe again before a Taken or a Statham or anything of those likes.(I gave an extra star just because the final scene took place across the road from where I live, there's no better way to end a good movie than to have a bunch of explosions on your street before the credits roll)

This movie was just an attempt at filling in late hours after a long day.. however, it proved to be so much more. Though it doesn't offer the great graphics, investment and distractions as most of Hollywood, it does something much more.. it delivers TRUTH and tries desperately to wake the sleeping public to the DISGUSTING FACTS that we live in a horrible 'rich mans' world where the poor and helpless are used/ abused for their pleasures. Just a few hours ago, someone posted on Facebook, an article from RT news about the massive child sex rings and abuse that are taking place in the UK. This disturbs me as I am a parent. Once I started getting into this movie and see 'who' is being killed, it actually interested me to finally see a movie 'to the public' that addresses what has been going on for decades and is not addressed by political officials, police and humanity. The words he speaks are nothing short of correct. The message is important. We are all so busy shopping, watching television, believing the 'lying' mainstream media and distracted only caring about what goes on in OUR small world to care about what is happening overall. I would recommend this movie in a NY minute to 'anyone' that still believes in 'humanity.'
