This movie has some bad plot holes from the beginning and I wish the producers & director would have at least tried to fix them. This could really could have been a stellar movie. In truth, I almost left the movie during the 1st 10 minutes. BUT! and I mean this in the best sense. This is a movie of redemption, in a almost biblical sense. Like many of us, literally or figuratively, she finds her soul in the desert after experiencing a truly horrible event. She goes from being a very shallow, coke sniffing and empty headed stripper. To realizing that in her are great reservoirs of strength, courage and love. In other words she finds her humanity. She goes from hating her zombie persuer, to seeing in his fallen nature, that he requires compassion not hatred. If you do see this movie look at from that perspective and, see in her, yourself. What all of us can become if we leave our bad habits and dedicate ourselves to becoming a "True Human Being".

Wait until you find out what really made the sands red.Sure, it's CGI'd, like too many things in this low-budget zombie Gerry-like feature, but it's the thought that counts.Sometimes I check the time on a movie when it makes me either bored or frustrated. I literally thought I was an hour or more into this film when I accidently moved my mouse and saw I was only 32 minutes in. Egad, this one was tough. It Stains the Sands Red, or as it should've easily been called, "You're killing me, Smalls!" was, indeed, a chore to get through. You will spend more than 90 minutes of one dumb decision after another from some dumb blonde. Literally, that's the movie: many stupid mistakes from someone you couldn't care less about. Some coke-addict skank from Las Vegas strands herself in the middle of the Nevada desert and in her attempt to travel more than 30-miles (sorry, she would have never made it) in the scorching sun and as little as a day or so, she's followed by a zombie as it's suggested briefly in a cool, CGI-heavy and altered flyover the Las Vegas Blvd, that the zombie outbreak has occurred. In a quasi-"Hostage Terrorist, Terrorist Hostage: A Study in Duality," she befriends a living dead dude and actually allows him to accompany her travels. I'm guessing some/most of these scenes were meant for laughs or some dark-humor understanding, but for the most part, I couldn't get past her or other people's idiotic actions...or inactions. It wasn't badly shot, despite all the horrible and too obvious CGI, nor badly acted, it's just so hard to have such a terrible protagonist and when you have basically two people in the entire movie and neither you root for, it's a drag.I'm all for zombie movies and love how everyone puts their own twists on them (here, the best scene reminded me of the superior indie flick, Rubber.) But, I've seen enough of them to know that her one major conflict could've been solved dozens of times. Not a recommendation, unless you just love to shout at the screen at an idiot. But, at least, this one's not in politics. ***Final thoughts: "This is bullshit!" exclaims one soldier in this. Every...step...of...the...way: I agree.

This movie is a prime example of the flawed ratings that IMDb is now subjecting us horror movie lovers to. I know a 5.6 rating isn't very high. But a 5.6 for a horror movie on this site usually means the movie is somewhat decent. This movie IS NOT one of those movies. It is VERY boring, the protagonist is very annoying with her very stupid decision making. The script is flawed beyond repair. The only thing about this movie that is OK is Brittany Allen. She plays out her role to the best of her ability with what she was given. That's pretty much the only reason i gave this movie 4 stars. I just don't see how these reviews are honest. I love indie horror flicks, even some bad ones are still decent. But this one is just terrible. Only reason i even gave it a chance was because of the rating from this site and the now obvious fake reviews.Bottom line... Stay away from this movie, help bring this rating down to where it should be. The only honest reviews are the ones posted on the last page. Do not fall victim to the BS.

Boring movie with very unlike-able main character. I can never get behind a movie where the main (and really only significant) alive character is a crappy person and makes stupid decisions. At first I wondered, is this meant to be a comedy? Certainly its no horror nor a thriller. Black 'comedy' maybe. Annoying cheap drunk stripper coke head uses guy, shows shes a crap person, boringly gets chased by a very poor make-up-ed smalls, lets her misandry fly and over all proves she really is an unlike-able 'dumb broad'- would be a much more accurate summary of this movie. Would definitely recommend re-watching TWD for the 100th time over this. But in the pros - good use of landscape, actors aren't terrible and zombie sound effects are good.
