'I' is a typical Indian masala film, consisting action, romance and thrill. With much expectation i went inside the theater and after a while i realized that i was duped. With hesitation i had to watch the full movie. Some aspects in the movie were absolutely amazing like Vikram's acting, Amy's cute face, Shanker's screenplay, music by Anirudh and the placement of the songs. Some of the points that would say this movie was boring: 1)There were many logical lapses 2)Story was stupid and pointless 3)Last, my time was wasted. I expected more from Director Shanker as he had given fantastic films in the course of time. Recommendation to this movie is not advisable.

This is the worst movie ever from Shankar barring his Youth musical entertainer "Boys". The core idea of the film is appreciable but it gets weakened by the wafer thin script. Too much of creation, innovation and patch works have done for 30 minutes which is for "Songs". Apart from that, there is nothing really was shown for a "Typical Shankar movie"Screenplay of this movie is a complete fail ( may be a disaster) and lengthy (3 hours) which made the movie unpleasant to watch and enjoy as a wholesome package.Casting was by far the worst from Shankar.BGM was Average (I am a hardcore fan of ARR)The hard work of Vikram wasn't properly executed. There is no need of shedding kilos for the role of Hunch back as the WETA Team have worked hard and given the best. So, there is nothing really needed from Vikram's potential apart from transforming a gym boy to a model to a Hunch back man. The acting scope was completely diluted with the excellent makeups done by WETA. And Vikram's local language haven't fitted well for him ( seems like faking it).Amy Jackson have done really well in parts. Justified performance.Santhanam comedy was unrealistic and especially in climax was irritating.. POSITIVES: 1. Lead pair was good ( Both Vikram and Amy have done well) 2.Songs (both Audio and Video) were damn good 3. WETA makeovers were impeccable 4. Cinematography( both visuals and camera angles) was the best 6. Costumes were good.NEGATIVES: Basic script and Of course screenplay, Surprisingly poor direction, Screen cast ( pivotal letdown), Editing( nothing you can't do as other departments failed).Totally, I movie missed its way because of the main department.

I saw this movie in Vizag, and was completely mesmerized. Vikram was superb as usual, Shankar was superb, cinematographer was superb. Above all, its Vikram's acting and hard work, which completely shows off.He is the unique star in whole cinematic industry. The story is revenge drama about how the hero who is a village guy and totally down to earth person takes revenge on those who brought misery to him. AR Rahman music was very good. The locations in China were amazing. The songs were a visual feast. All i can guarantee you is this movie is MORE than paisa vasool. Completely enjoyed this movie. Don't follow the critics, just go and watch the movie. Some scenes are emotional, heart touching and moving. Thia movie without Vikram may not be that effective.

I saw 'I' with my family. And this is the second movie in a row featuring 'Lingeswaran' that we weren't particularly fond of (the first being Linga of course). To begin with, I don't understand how 'I' was rated U/A when it is definitely more suitable for an audience of 18+ (parents, you might need to exercise a lot of caution during the film). Second, the movie itself is NOT a remake of the Beauty and the Beast (which is no doubt a Disney classic). 'I' is perhaps very very loosely based on the theme. But it is way darker and grotesque than the adorably innocent animated film. So if you go expecting a fairy tale movie, you are gonna be devastated (much like I was). That been said, this movie is perhaps worth a watch for the sheer brilliance of Vikram. Vikram out did himself with his acting and of course throwing himself into the role of the model as well as the hunchback. He was mind blowing and certainly surpassed his past performances in movies like Anyan and so on. No wonder Arnold was impressed. Finally, the make up and direction. As pathetic as the screenplay was, the make up was out of this world and we had no negative comments on the direction. Shankar had no doubt paid extreme attention to detail and must I say, it definitely paid off brilliantly.
