When Demi walks downstairs to the river where her son just drowned, she passes by a high wall full of yellow and red wine leaves. It must be October. When she leaves home to finish her book in a cottage, we learn that her son''s death was 8 months ago. So this must be June.Shortly after her arrival she meets Angus and later on , waiting for him in the pub, village people tell her Angus died 7 years ago. She replies that she had spent the whole week with him.She stays only a few more days until she returns home. So thus must be July. In the last scene she has returned home and again walks down to the river and again the wine leaves are yellow and red. It is impossible, it cannot be October again. This is not mentioned in film mistakes.

realistic atmosphere. good performances. interesting story about the relation with past and the ambiguity of present under its pressure. mystery, thriller and a seductive circle of appearances. and the joy to discover, step by step, a Gothic story who turns to new way. its virtue - to remind the rules of a genre who , in too many occasions, is covered by surrogates. and this is the key for admire this decent story about challenges and impressions and fears. about integration in a small community and about the rediscover of the flavor of XIX century literature. sure, its target is precise. sure, it is not exactly a great film. but more than decent. and this is the fact who does it almost a revelation about love and truth. because it reminds old memories about literary and cinematographic styles and about old stories.like a letter from other periods.

i watched 'the dark ' starring Maria Bello then saw this. it's ALMOST the same movie.they should be sold together . they could be remade as two movies or one movie with everyone from both movies. as usual i would've preferred more skin and sex . Demi has gone from looking good to looking for her age but there's life ( and body) in the old girl yet. Maria has small boobies but a nice bum and legs that promise you viewer heaven while taking you to hell ( Bon Jovi reference). oh boy oh boy, oh my oh my , it would be amazing to see beautiful Kate Issit's jaw breaking ,pants dropping massive(*)(*) .

I had honestly hoped this would be somehow inspirational , but it's not. Best parts the videography which appears to be electronic HD. Love the sea scenes. Hate the stupid and mawkish love affair. She should have gotten into a high level interaction with the village psychic. Instead always in bed with a bed able man. Wow.. is this not pathetically predictable. The script could also have dealt with her sanity and the small edge she (the central female character) found herself on. It could have been more a grief issue with her young son. But, not a cheap twist of writing to appeal to the less than intelligent. Now, toward the end this whole pathetic mess becomes a farce, because the screen writer was not intelligent enough to give an original and challenging screen play. Just another predictable well heeled authoress with time on her hands. I really wish I had spent the 138 plus minutes in some other way.It amazed me how hollow and unimaginative HolloW wood writers can be and still get paid. The music was excellent, sentimental, predictable and well over shot intellectually the whole mess of a movie.
