Yes, I know...gay movies come with their own special lowered bar...but this one wouldn't even allow a centipede to limbo under. The acting is just bad all around. The production values are pretty low (bad sound quality and lighting throughout). I think the worst part was the incessant guitar strumming which made the pace even more tediously slow than necessary. The ONLY good performance was the Doctor, who came off as believable. Other than that, just lackluster and amateur; from the acting to the writing down to the actual filmography. I would be hard pressed to find anything good to say about this movie, but I just can't...just not worth seeing.

or only sketch. two guys. an accident. and a relationship. nothing more. the difference - the nature of relation between central characters. but it is not very important because ambitions of script are limited. few scenes. and nothing else. so, it is a film about roots. and way. and real life as sign of honest freedom. it is a good film and that is basic sin because it has great potential to be more profound. but, it is a problem of team choice. and personal taste. sure, the Hallmark atmosphere is nice. and the warm atmosphere of a small place is realistic. but it is like one of characters food. something missed. few drops of salt, few slices of onion. so, it remains a honest movie. not seed of revolution. but decent, OK and not real boring.

I'm glad I watched. The dark haired guy was cute, but the film was just illogically bad at points.1. Why make a point of twice flipping a switch to activate a FAKE fireplace? We're in the woods. Why isn't it REAL??? 2. If everybody's walking around in AUTUMN jackets and in "a few weeks" the lake will be drained for winter, why would Drew jump in the lake to go swimming??? 3. Drew's brother goes to the lake and finds Drew sitting in it. It's nighttime, fall and the brother has a winter coat on. Yet Drew is sitting in water! Laughably bad is the 5 beer bottles that are floating around him. So did he walk in carrying 6 beers and sit alone in the dark drinking one by one? And the tide kept all of the empties right around him? It was just ludicrous.4. The doctor says it's not her area (the amnesia). Because it's a psychological amnesia, he would need a psychiatrist. Again, the doctor said it's not her area. And, yet, no explanation is ever given why the guy keeps going to see her.5. Blurring the license plates? Why? Is the director in the Federal Witness Protection Program? It's a feel good movie I guess. But it tries too hard to throw in "drama."

I guess we gays have come a long way as now some of us have the time & money to waste on mediocre, dull as dishwater PG13 "mysteries" that have all of the dramatic tension of a Scooby Doo episode. Jeez, GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN makes the worst episode of MURDER SHE WROTE seem like THE MALTESE FALCON!! What I just don't get is WHY this film was made & who is the audience? If there were attractive leads or hot sex maybe I could understand the effort (there IS a market for soft core gay porn) but there's just NOTHING going on here. There isn't one second of originality in this film, not one of the actors displays any enthusiasm for their roles (I've seen hostages do better line readings), the cinematography is 7-11 security cam level, the awful neo-folkie music obscures a lot of the dialog (guess that's a blessing) & the running time is padded out with numerous scenes of people driving. Were it not for the lack of sex scenes or any flesh for that matter I would swear this was an edited porn film as the sets are hilariously unconvincing but not nearly as rigid, wooden & unattractive as the actors. This wouldn't even cut it as a Troma film! The filmmakers had a budget & materials to make a gay themed mystery/romance & this is what they came up with? Man do I hope they all know how to type or wait tables because the art is just NOT in their blood! This one is up there with PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE & ROBOT MONSTER as one of the most inept films ever made. The only way GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN can be (almost) enjoyed is "Mystery science Thatre 3000" style. My boyfriend & I were howling with laughter at this turd & heckled it mercilessly. Hey here's an idea: the new all gay cable channel Logo can hire some really bitchy drag queens to watch bad gay flicks & heckle them. THAT is the only way I can recommend it.
