Get Smart's Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control Trailers

Bumbling R&D inventors Bruce and Lloyd get out of the lab and into the field as they search to locate their latest invention - which has somehow gone missing. When you're used to spending your day inventing the most cutting edge spy equipment known to man, adapting the stealth and guile needed to become a true secret agent doesn't come naturally. Unfortunately the invisibility cloak that the pair recently collaborated on has disappeared, and in order to ensure that it doesn't fall into the hands of KAOS they will have to master the skills of a true spy. But how exactly does one find an object that's invisible to begin with? As the search gets underway, these brainy inventors are given an eye-opening crash course in high-level espionage.

There is nothing hugely wrong with this film. As a straight to DVD outing for the two geeky gadget guys from 2008's 'Get Smart' it makes for an amiable enough 68 minutes. There are a few twists and some good laughs. What more can we ask for? Nate Torrence, who was so good in Studio 60 and Mr Sunshine is great as Bruce, and most of the big laughs come from him.The plot stands up (just) and works both as a stand alone film or when linked in with the main 'Get Smart' film. To be honest I don't know why they just didn't release both together on DVD and be done with it.The main issue is that this film feels like a straight to DVD outing or worse a short mini film before the real one gets started. The performances are all there, but crucially it is lacking that bit of spit and polish to make it a decent film.

Bruce and Lloyd: Out of Control is a spin off of the Get Smart movie featuring Steve Carell. The movie is based around Bruce and Lloyd (funnily enough since they are in the title) who are the two tech guys from Get Smart who came up with all the spy tools. It runs in the same time line as the Get Smart movie and has a cameo appearance by Anne Hathaway (99). It also includes Patrick Warburton (Hymie) and the receptionist (dont know her name) from the Get Smart movie. Hymie although not there for long was hilarious. There are some extremely funny parts and overall it isn't too bad but at just over 60 minutes was too short.

i have a decent name for the film Get Smart's Excuse to try to con people into spending more money! This is a pitiful attempt o take an aspect of one film (which by all accounts sucks also) and use a spin off to make more cash, if Get smart was the summer hit of the ear, sure make a spin off/sequel but this is premature at best! the results for get smart are not even registered! Its not like making all three lord of the rings films at once, its a remake of a TV series into a movie, and they rarely ever do super well what chance does it have aainst the other films being released, on te up shot, at least it will be better than "meet dave"

Not sure exactly how this came about, but my guess is that they had too much of Lloyd and Bruce to use in the movie, and instead of merely relegating these scenes to extras on the DVD, they wrote a story around the bits, filmed some new scenes and made a movie out of it. Yes, look closely, there's 9 zillion establishing shots of various buildings to fill it out, but hey, it was damn funny, these two hilarious guys got to be stars for a bit (and showed they could pull it off, which leads me to hope they get more to do in the Get Smart sequel), and we even got an uncredited Anne Hathaway cameo! Fun, silly, and I hope that they do another mini-movie to go with the Get Smart sequel!
