In the vein of "Harvey", an invisible creature befriends a 12 year old boy. Of course, no one else can see him nor believes in him.

Oddball episode of The Wonderful World of Disney from the 80s that I caught on TCM as part of a double feature with Disney's original version of "Pete's Dragon." Both films feature a young boys with an invisible friend no one else believes is real. Compared to "Pete's Dragon," this film is more "Harvey" in that for most of the story you don't know if this it's an imaginary friend or if Fuzzbucket is real (because what self-respecting creature would name itself Fuzzbucket). This episode was written and directed by Mick Garris, who was a regular writer on Steven Spielberg's "Amazing Stories" (he'd later go on to create the brilliant "Masters of Horror" anthology series) and this episode feels very much in the vein of Spielberg's series, primary telling family friendly Twilight Zone-style of stories. The cast includes a few recognizable faces, including Joe Regalbuto (Frank from "Murphy Brown"), John Vernon (Deal Wormer from "Animal House"), and an unrecognizable Phil Fondacaro (the troll from "Troll") as Fuzzbucket. Nothing brilliant, but it's likable and will entertain.

An episode of the Walt Disney anthology series, Fuzz Bucket is the name of a gnome who lives underground in a forest and who like Cinderella had consequences for staying out too late. In this case the little guy becomes invisible and cannot be heard but by one person. Young grade schooler Chris Hebert is the lucky kid. But as is usual the victim of a lot of things he just can't explain. The best scene in the story is young Hebert in the principal's office trying to explain stuff that even he is finding hard to believe. The principal is played with sterness by John Vernon. After mixing a concoction Hebert gives it to the invisible gnome and it works and we see it is small person actor Phil Fondecaro. After this it's trying to get back to the forest and his own kind and Hebert's thinking he might want to join him.The fantasy machine at the Magic Kingdom came up way short, no pun intended, in this story. Just didn't feel this one at all. Left me with a lot of questions instead of a sense of wonder.

This is a great film takes me back to my childhood. Only one problem I cant seem to find a copy of it anywhere? If anyone reads this I would love to hear if you know of how I can get my hands on a copy! Its such a funny film, I have lots of great memories sitting watching it with my big brother. I would love to see it again in all its glory that I can remember. I would also like a copy to show my children when I have any. I have most of my friends looking for a copy all over the web but so far no good , Its an absolutely fab film!!!!!!! I think it should be back on at Christmas instead of all the same old films!!!! Thanks A very BIG fuzz bucket fan
