sweet story, nice script, perfect cast. a love story in same rules of genre, not profound but comfortable, using the difference of age as spice and two not bad actors in the lead roles. so, a modern form of fairy tale with clichés and tension moments, lovely landscapes and pleasant atmosphere. nothing new but that could be its fundamental virtue. because, in fact, it is only a film with Heather Locklear and Robert Buckley, with surfing in Hawaii and collection of stereotypes, ideal choice for Sunday evening, not problematic but sweet and nice and decent. so, an easy romantic film with the ordinaries problems and solutions, selfish and dreams. better than many other examples of genre, it is a soft refuge for romantics and the victims of a hard long work day.
... View MoreI have just seen this movie and i just wanna say that it is awesome. The chemistry between Locklear and Buckley are amazing, it's funny sexy and most importantly, it challenges the view society has built regarding single women over 35.Pretty early in the movie you find out that Locklears ex-husband Daniel has a new girlfriend; he is 42 and she only 28. I'm pretty sure that none of you raised an eyebrow; i mean there's nothing wrong to have some "lamb-meat" if you are a guy. In that case you are hip cool, and you get tons of respect from your pals. If this would be let's say an older woman and a young hot guy, then the woman has some sort of midlife crisis, she's s bad mother, irresponsible; running around with her boy toy. It's obvious that her friends are happy that she's moving on, but they also gives her; as they call it " friendly advise".I am in my mid thirties and i am not accepting the fact that men are allowed to act different than a woman when it comes to sex and relationships and neither should you. This movie has everything and i have been smiling for about an hour now, and it doesn't get any better than looking at Buckleys sun-tanned hot body and gorgeous smile.
... View MoreI thought this was a sweet and contemporary story.A woman is divorced and lives the hard life as a single mom of two. When she turns 40 she reaches a turning point of her life and realizes that she really can enjoy all the aspects of her life, she meets a much younger attractive surfer and her friends begin to worry about her choice and think that she's reached a midlife crisis. She is happy and in love, could life be any better? I thought this movie was very romantic and sweet, and it raises some good points about age differences and love. I liked it because I felt like I could very easily relate to the story. I also must mention that Heather Locklear looks as great as ever.
... View MoreHeather Locklear and I go way back, to about 1986. No, we have never met, but I recall having a poster of her on my cubicle wall at work back then. She was a 20-something starlet, promoting some sort of fitness business, I forget which. But I never forgot Heather. In fact my wife and I have a running joke, if Heather Locklear ever shows up at my front door, asking for me, then I have permission to run off with her!I suppose with a not-so-hidden vanity motive on her part, Heather Locklear, who is rapidly approaching 50, plays Jackie Laurens, about to turn 40, in this TV movie. She is divorced, with children, and a successful decorator in Denver. But she has no man in her life. To take away the sting of turning 40, her best friend presents her with two tickets and hotel reservations to Hawaii, for both of them to go and enjoy the vacation, and do whatever single women do there.Vanessa Williams as Kristine is her friend, but as they meet up in the airport terminal Kristine tells her of a family emergency, she can't go, but Jackie is to go ahead and enjoy the trip. She sets out alone. After being hit upon rather quickly by an orthodontist at a conference, she is rescued by Robert Buckley as Kyle Hamilton who recognizes what is going on. He is a 27 year old beach bum and surfer instructor, which Jackie immediately recognizes is way too young for her. But she cannot resist his charms and they hook up anyway.Thinking this was just to be a one-nighter Jackie is surprised when Kyle shows up over and over, and they begin a very improbable relationship. He doesn't seem to be bothered at all by their age differences. The movie isn't great and the acting is just adequate, but I enjoyed it for Heather Locklear. I don't even mind that she played a character almost 10 years younger than her real age. She looks pretty good for almost 50!
