Wow .. This movie was half way through when I turned on my tv to fold my laundry and clean my room. At first it was just random background noise... until I stopped to watch it because it was so intriguing .. not intriguing good.. I mean it was soooooooo horrible that these actors must criiiinge at the thought of it.

Though we ousted the British in a revolution, this country has a tendency to treat the children of the president as if they're royalty. Apparently, the media doesn't help either in this situation.This is essentially the story of a first daughter attempting to taste some sort of freedom when she goes off to college.Michael Keaton plays a rather benign president here. Margaret Colin, as his wife, is political to the hilt.You'd think that the story would surround itself with independence. While it has it, I was disappointed to see that the film deals with love between the daughter and a secret service agent no less.I just loved when the daughter repeated in a literature class a situation similar to that of her own, when she talks about a prince always being a prince no matter what.

Wow !! I love this movie First Daughter..Such a refreshing and sweet one. The chemistry between Katie and Marc is just so amazing and beautiful. I do not watch English movies that much but I just happen to watch this movie in a TV channel and I go bowled over by the simplicity and sweetness of the movie. Since then I check that TV channel every now n then in hope that First Daughter may have been broad casted. Katie looks simple yet so beautiful. Marc is also so very good looking. Storyline is an interesting one. Presentation is equally interesting. But the ending of the movie is little kind of unsatisfying. I Wish it could have ended in a better way. Never the less, I love it.

Samantha Mackenzie (Katie Holmes), the daughter of President Mackenzie (Michael Keaton) and his wife Melanie (Margaret Collin), decides to go to college in California during his tough campaign for reelection. She requests a reduced secret service protection trying to act normal with her new mates, including her roommate Mia Thompson (Amerie), and she falls in love for James Lansome (Marc Blucas). When her security is threatened, she discloses the real identity of James and decides to return home to support her family in the election process.In spite of having a good cast with great performances, "First Daughter" has a very silly and shallow screenplay that does not help the actors and the actresses. The story aims to expose the "tough life" of a young woman because she is the daughter of the president of the USA, but actually shows a futile, spoiled and overprotected teenager with a weak personality having a luxurious and banal lifestyle.
