This movie changed my narrative. It's opened my mind to realise that God is the ultimate. Every other thing is secondary. Jesus first
... View MoreThis has got to be the worst movie I've ever seen. We all spent more time laughing at the bad actors than anything else. It was like watching something on Saturday Night Live. And the story is absolutely ridiculous. Pray to Jesus and you will score more touchdowns is basically it in a nutshell. Yeah, b/c Jesus doesn't have anything better to do...like save kids dying from starvation around the world, he is concentrating on your football game. HA! What a joke! I'm mad that I wasted time watching this. If I hadn't been part of a group who wanted to see it, I would have gotten up and left after the first 15 minutes. If you don't believe me, just give it a try. I've warned you!
... View MoreA friend of ours gave us this movie to watch. I wasn't sure what I was in for, but decided to give it a whirl.PROS: -This movie has a nice, positive message about maintaining one's faith during times of trouble.-The action and football sequences were performed decently.-The Black assistant coach was a pretty decent actor.-A great movie to show to other church-goers (Thus my summary title).CONS:-The acting is very amateur, and rather painful to watch at times. -The Christian utopia at a public high school is a nice sentiment, and maybe allowed/encouraged in Georgia, but is unrealistic in many other places outside of the bible belt.-The cameo of Coach Mark Richt from University of Georgia is kind of an awkward scene. Unless you're from GA or follow college football, you will never really learn who he is.-The plot is fairly predictable.-The first 5 minutes of the movie consists of 1,505,768 opening logos for production & distribution companies who worked on this piece. If you understand that this movie was made by and starred volunteers, and not professionals, you may enjoy it. It's a great film to show other believers, because of its feel-good message. To everyone else, this movie is rather corny, and makes an After-school special look like an Oscar-winning film.If you want to show non-believers Christ-centered media, I'd steer clear of this selection. Steve Taylor's, "The Second Chance" may be a better avenue to reach those without Jesus in their lives.
... View MoreOK so me and my ethics and faith class at school were forced to watch this movie and holy molly we all laughed all the way through. Not because it was funny but because the acting was just terrible, Im sure they tried to make a good movie but they failed so badly. The hole religion aspect was completely unnecessary it just annoyed me it was just so forced. Now back to the acting in the scene about 30 minutes in to the movie were Grant and his wife are crying at the table. It was meant to be an emotional scene but because of the terrible acting it was outrageously funny the whole class including me exploded into tiers of laughter. But I'm sure that the filmmakers were trying to make a good movie so thats why i gave it a 2.
