The first Decadent Evil was vintage Full Moon Productions, in other words it wasn't great but it at least had something going for it.Decadent Evil II carries straight on from the original following our lovebirds from the original film, little Marvin and Ivan (Even though frustratingly he isn't played by Phil Fondacaro this time) With a less original storyline, less charm but a fantastic soundtrack full of unknown rock acts the film isn't without it's merits but certainly has less than the original.A third part seems somewhat unlikely now and I think that's a shame. One more adventure for our human, vampire, little person & er....littler red man?! could have been good.Decadent Evil II isn't bad and it's great that it follows straight on from the original but it fails to be quite as entertaining.I believe I mentioned that the first movie had one of the most unusual sex scenes in movie history. This film pays homage to that and closes with one that rivals even that!? Cringe worthy yet laugh inducing.
... View MoreI liked this movie from fullmoon, It was exactly what I expected, It was set in a great enviorment and had a good story. The characters were great because for me I didn't know who were the vampires and who weren't. I miss Phill F but recardo did a great job with the character Ivan. The music was great, Its good to see a maker of movies using local talent from the area he's filming at. B movies are my favorite form of entertainment and this one did not disappoint me. No one can say the ending wasn't great. It was good to be a hemuculas that day. The time I spent watching this movie was well worth it.
... View MoreDecadent Evil II starts where Decadent Evil (2005) left off with the Vampire stripper Sugar (Jill Michelle) & her human boyfriend Dex (Daniel Lennox) on the run, the pitch up in a motel room in the small town of Little Rock with the dead body of dwarf Vampire hunter Ivan (Ricardo Gil) & his freak father Marvin. The little red mutant Marvin is upset & so to try & cheer him up Sugar & Dex intend to resurrect his son Ivan but need the blood of a Vampire clan leader. With Morella gone the next in line seems to be the owner of a strip club called Vision's, in order to get close to the Vampire leader both Sugar & Dex take jobs at the club & soon discover that the clan leader has the same plan as Morella did, to claim 10,000 victims in order to become immortal & invincible & it's up to Sugar, Dex & the undead Ivan to stop him...Directed by Charles Band this is a sequel to his earlier film Decadent Evil (2005) & is more of a remake as it tells exactly the same story as it has the three main character's from the first, it's set in & around a strip club again which Vampires use to lure victims, there's a powerful Vampire who needs 10,000 victims to become immortal, there's a dwarf vampire hunter & even the little red guy Marvin makes a reappearance as the two films are more or less the same but amazingly Decadent Evil II somehow manages to be a whole lot worse. While the first Decadent Evil had a couple of positives Decadent Evil II doesn't have any, the first only lasted about an hour while this lasts for about 80 minutes & boy does it drag, the original had a bit of gore whereas this has none apart from a bit of fake blood, the original had the hotness of Raelyn Hennessee as Spyce is gone & the girls look a lot plainer, despite being set in a strip club there's actually very little nudity, there's a few bare breast's but nothing else & no full on sex scenes like the original either & while the original had a sexy villain here the make-up job on the Vampire king is awful & he resembles some sort of bat thing. Even the plotting is worse as the script actually tries to throw in a few twists but they are really, really bad & throughly predictable. Also the continuity isn't great, while certain things are carried over from the original like Marvin certain things are mysteriously forgotten about like Morella being turned into a female version of whatever Marvin is. This is just bad.Over here in the UK the title was slightly altered to The Decadent Evil Dead 2 which is an obvious attempt to cash-in on Sam Raimi's classic The Evil Dead (1982). Forget about any gore as there isn't any, the joke shop king Vampire mask looks awful & the CGI glowing eyes is as good as it sounds. The film looks & feels a lot like the original with boring neon lighting & the majority of it being set in a strip club although as I have already said there's not that much nudity. The budget for this was probably even lower than the original & it just looks cheap from start to finish. Michelle & Lennox return from the original although Ivan is now played by Ricardo Gil. The acting in general is poor & nothing else needs to be said.Decadent Evil II is awful & that's all that needs to be said really, lets hope a third installment never gets made. Definitely one to avoid.
... View MoreUtterly pointless and mundane sequel to Charles Band's 'Decadent Evil' also made by Band and Full Moon.Band has often said that his films are made on the cappuccino budget of James Cameron's 'Titanic' and here it feels like 'Decadent Evil II' has been made on the cappuccino budget of the first film. Set primarily in a real strip club with real strippers one can't help but feel that Band just wanted to audition a load of naked women (his erotica projects currently shelved as no one wants them) and see a load of live music (a big part of the film). Ultimately, the ugly puppet Marvin barely features being replaced with leading lady from the first film Jill Michelle (fully clothed) and hapless dude Daniel Lennox plodding around the strip club with average looking women getting naked and mediocre bands creating atmosphere (or noise at least). Though Phil Fondacaro narration appears briefly at the start of the film during a series of edits from the first movie Ivan character here is played by Ricardo Gil (Band's latest small person having also featured in Gingerdead Man). Like the first film the whole thing is a combination of weak sleaze and horny people but without the charm of the earlier movie (mainly created by some exceptional cast members and an original story). Making of (featured on the 3rd disc of a limited edition DVD release and NOT on the film itself) shows how much all the cast and crew loved Band and making the film. Can't help but feel that the guys enjoyed the free soft core and the girls liked feeling attractive (which in a grubby strip joint wasn't difficult). Mediocre.
