One of the underrated movie of director James Wan. Kevin Bacon plays a father who goes as a vigilante after those murderers of his family. A treat for action and violence lovers. Actor Kevin Bacon played his role intensely and especially for that balding his head scene.

So, its Taken with Kevin Bacon. Except this was first, why didn't this become a hit? No cool catchphrase? Maybe. But this film is not as bad as people say. Kevin Bacon gives another respected performance, and yet the effort was not recognized as it should have been. Certainly this film has its problems, but overall, it is enjoyable. Again, Kevin Bacon is the reason. Director James Wan displays his talent in a different manner than in his typical horror realm, as this action thriller does surprise, and delight. Of course the always brilliant John Goodman is always a great site to see. However, the problem I do see that may keep it from being a great film, is the messy script. The tone is off, as it doesn't know what it wants to be. And sets as your typical shooter. But it does pack some surprises, and I think the 20% on RT is unjustified. Take what you will from it, and maybe it will surprise you. Don't always listen to RT.

hmm I see the comment section is back? well done IMDb! I thought this movie was non-stop action violence and worth the time to watch! Love Kevin Bacon as I enjoy most of his movies! I especially like him when he is a bad guy like River Wild or something or Invisible man, but he is a versatile actor, message should be be careful as it is sometimes better to turn the other cheek rather than seek revenge!

This movie turned out to be better than expected. The story was incredible.Nick Hume, played by Kevin Bacon, had the ideal life. He was a respected member in the community. He had a sustainable career, and so did his wife Helen Hume, played by Kelly Preston. He had two sons who were scholars and athletes. He could not ask for any more. But in a tragic accident, Hume's oldest son was brutally murdered by a gang. Hume tried to stop the gang members and was not successful, but he was able to identify the murderer. But if he were to testify against the murderer in court, even if convicted, he would not have received life in prison. So Hume decides to not testify, the charges were dropped, and Hume took matters into his own hands. Hume murders his son's murderer. Little did he know that action would create a ripple effect that would escalate to the gang to now attempt to kill the rest of his family. It was intense watching Hume evolve from his good self into an evil criminal that would do what it would take to protect his family from the gang that was now after him. Every person has a dark side, and Hume expressed his incredibly loud.
