Based on the popular Internet novel, the film takes place in a school renowned for its sexual aberrations. The student body is comprised of sexually ambiguous teenagers, and the student president and vice-present flaunt their taste for S&M. A guilty pleasure. This is a teen high-school comedy about, well high-school life. Sure the jokes are silly and it's a musical, but still it has enough going for it in terms of bizarreness and creativity. A girl with poverty on her back is forced into prostitution with a cross-dresser who wants to giggle and talk about the newest idols, she is in love with the son of a rich Swiss family who in turn is in love with the trans gender brother/sister of the sole virgin in the class, the cyclop. Partly a mocking of the musical, the TV drama and the high-school comedy it has some nice touches apart from that.

The myriad of colours, song and dance all bring about a very madcap feel to Dasepo Naughty Girls, based on an internet comic strip. In essence a series of short stories or skits woven together, it tells the story of the students of No Use High, a multi-religious schools where monks, nuns, priests, and atheists all study common general subjects under one roof. The opening credits sequence had brought a smile to my face, and throughout the movie, the injection of song and dance made Dasepo Naughty Girls resemble Grease, albeit weaker in the flow of story lines and subplots, and of course not as polished, at times disjointed even with weak transitions.Other than that, the movie does live up to its being "naughty", and is thoroughly cheeky with its bizarre multitude of characters - like the girl with a "poverty" doll sticking behind her back, an exchange student from Switzerland, the mysterious principal, a one eyed cyclops, a cross dresser, a girl born with a male member, and the list goes on.Most of the skits had the usual expected punchlines to its scenes, no doubt similar in style and delivery like the 80s Hong Kong "mo-lei-tau" comedies with sexual innuendos. However, it's breezy and light, and without a doubt, it fulfils the goal of being pure entertainment.

This is crazy. And by crazy, I mean awesome. And by awesome, I mean insane. And by insane, I mean.. well.. this movie.I'm not Korean and don't speak the language, but when I happened to find a copy of this with English subtitles I decided to check it out, and I'm totally glad I did. This is a comedy, but beyond that this is impossible to categorize. There are the Zucker-style "Airplane" moments. There are sex gags on par with anything National Lampoon did in their heyday. There are the heartwarming subplots involving a few budding romances which are genuinely sweet. There are the over-the-top cartoony CGI scenes like something out of "Kung Fu Hustle." It's not just aimless humor, either, it's satire with a message. Everything from school culture to teen promiscuity to multiple religions to Internet celebrity to social class divisions to fetishes and kinks to organized crime is spoofed, twisted around, and put back in its place severely distorted and hilarious. It's a bit like Monty Python's "Life of Brian," in that there is a single real underlying message to the whole film, but it doesn't let that get in the way of taking things off into a whole new crazy direction for a few minutes every now and then.Unlike many comedies, the characters are not just single-joke constructs. The cast is brilliant, and their characters are well fleshed-out and genuine people, who just happen to live in an over-the-top psychotic world much like our own and do crazy things. This movie is a total head trip, and it's seriously one of the best movies I've seen this year. Every time you think you've figured it out, it throws something completely new and unexpected at you. This is the movie that modern overdone self-aware "comedies" like "The New Guy," the last couple of "Scary Movie" installments, or anything made after 1990 with the words "National Lampoon" in the title wish they could be.

I'm currently staying in Korea and have seen this show on television. Although I don't speak Korean, I still find this show hilariously weird. My friend tries his best to explain, but its often too much for him.***possible spoiler***The types of things you should expect to see include a guy detaching his penis, a girl with a penis, a guy with one eye, and well, you get the idea.***end spoiler***Even not really understanding what they are saying, I find the show funny. I'd love to see it with subtitles, and will definitely check it out when I'm back home, I suggest you do to, if you're into weird comedies.
