Continuing my plan to watch every Eddie Murphy movie in order, I come to Daddy Day Care (2003) Plot In A Paragraph: Charlie, an ad executive (Murphy) opens up a Day Care Centre after he loses his job.Having put three nails in his career coffin with 3 flops in 2002, Murphy ran back to the kids movies, and again audiences showed up. My problem with this movie is I'm a parent. Under no circumstances would I trust Charlie and co with my children. There is a rival school, ran by Miss Harridan who is so expensive, that Charlie can no longer afford to send his son there. Angelica Huston is the villain of the movie, ruling her school with an iron hand, but you know what? It looks to me like a good school to me, the kids are all advanced for their ages, and well behaved. Whilst Daddy Day Care lets the kids do whatever they want to. Obviously, in the terms of this movie, any school where the kids have to study is bad, just as a school where the kids can run as they please is good. Not in real life with real kids. All that said, I had a peasant time watching it with an 8 year old, who found it very funny.Daddy Day Care grossed $104 million at the domestic box office to end 2003 as the 26th highest grossing movie of the year. It wasn't as profitable as some of his other kid friendly movies, but it did considerably better than his previous 3 movies.

"Daddy Day Care" is about 2 men (Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin) who work at company that make breakfast food. When they tried to make the breakfast food healthier they got fired. Then they decide to open a day care center. The parents was uneasy about guys running a day care because they felt its the women's job to do that kind of work. Will the dads show the world that guys can do that kind of work or will they fail? Pros: Good plot Funny Con: Acting was lacking. If you want a good family film you should give this a try.

Two fathers lose their jobs in product development at a large food company and are forced to take their sons out of the exclusive Chapman Academy and become stay at home fathers. With no job possibilities on the horizon , the two dads open their own day care facility, "Daddy Day Care" and employ some fairly unconventional and side-splitting methods of caring for children. However they face competition from the headmistress from Chapman as more of her students are joining Daddy Day Care. This film starred: Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, Steve Zahn & Angelica Hudson.DADDY DAY CARE was released in 2003 ad is and is an OK family comedy. If you have children there is a big chance they will enjoy this film because even I got a few chuckles out of it. This film isn't something I would probably watch again but I do recommend this film to people with young kids as they will most likely enjoy it. So if you have kids that go to a day care centre, you should show them this film.***/***** Could be worse.

This is just a funny and fun movie. And as one user wrote, the chemistry between all the actors and kid actors really makes the movie. We could use more movies like this. Nothing inappropriate either. It is one of those movies that you come away smiling. It's a feel good movie. I imagine if more people would support these kinds of movies maybe Hollywood would make more. I do wonder if there are more people than we think who secretly enjoy a good wholesome movie. And love Steve Zahn. Eddie Murphy is so good when he keeps it clean. He seems genuinely nice and, of course, love his voice for animated characters.Everyone in the cast really makes this movie charming.
