Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation Trailers

This animated adventure goes back in time to the Care Bears' first-ever Caring Mission, when True Heart Bear and Noble Heart Horse touch down on Earth to boost the spirits of some unhappy kids at summer camp. But the evil Dark Heart has other plans, and convinces one of the campers to help him capture the Care Bears. Will our lovable heroes' Care Stare be enough to vanquish the villain -- and convince his apprentice that good's the way to go?

Care Bears Movie 2: A New Generation isn't at all a bad movie. In fact, I like it very much. Yes I admit the dialogue is corny and the story is a bit poorly told at times. But Darkheart, while very very dark is a convincing enough shape shifting villain, and Hadley Kay did a superb job voicing him. Speaking of the voice acting, it was great, nothing wrong with it whatsoever. The animation is colourful, and some of the visuals particularly at the beginning were breathtaking. The songs and score are lovely, especially Growing Up and Forever Young, the latter has always been my personal favourite of the two. The care bears, who I do like, are adorable, and the human children are well done too. And the ending is a real tearjerker. All in all, harmless kiddie fun. 8/10 Bethany Cox

In an era of such awful cartoons, I am rather in shock to see a movie with such good morals make it to the IMDB Bottom List for Animated movies. This movie does contradict the first. I won't deny that. However, when I was in the target age group for this movie, I didn't even notice, nor would it have mattered if I did. The people who made it may have used "New Generation" to note that this is another way the Care Bear Family could have began. Perhaps we are meant to decide for ourselves how the Care Bear family truly began. This was my favorite movie at age 3-6, and it did not scare me or confuse me at all.

This movie was so adorable when I first saw it. I was 4 and I fell in love with the Care Bears. (I was born in 85 so parents made me wait to see it) And the other day I watched it with a bunch of my friends and loved it just as much. I thought that the story line didn't even follow the actual timeline of the Care Bears Evolution, but loved it nonetheless. In Lamen's, despite the film's inaccuracy, it's still the most adorable kid's movie. They just don't make them like they used to.

What were they thinking? The creators of this film obviously had never even seen the original. This film is a sorry excuse for a Care Bears sequel. It contradicts most of what happened in the first movie, and really treats it's audience like children... children don't want to be talked down to in films, and adults would really get tired of this film in the first five minutes. The writers tried to include a Disney-ish wit in this film, but they ended up making the whole film a joke. The only good thing about this film is the music- Dean Parks is a well-know studio guitarist who laid down many tracks in the 70's and 80's for big names like Billy Joel and Barry Manilow. Unfortunately some of the songs do drag, but this movie does have it's share of good songs. The Voice talent is excellent too, Maxine Miller does a terrific job with Truheart Bear. Nelvana is a wonderful animation studio, they had all kinds of talent that went into this project, yet they produced such an awful film, I can't figure it out.
