Blood: The Last Vampire Trailers

On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year-old, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400-year-old "halfling". Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts.

Normally, I hate to see movies twice. Perhaps it's small part of the reason I've reviewed so many different movies for IMDb. Regardless, I hate repetition and after seeing "Blood: The Last Vampire" I realized I'd seen it all before--it was called "Blade"!! Yes, the plots are nearly identical--too identical to make it worth seeing both. And, if you insist on seeing a film about a half-breed vampire killer, please see "Blade" instead!!Like "Blade", the story is about a vampire killer who is part vampire themselves. However, instead of the cool Wesley Snipes character, you get an immortal dressed like a Japanese school girl, Saya (Gianna Jun). Her job is to chop vampires in half--just like Blade and his, um, blade. And, in the end, there is a confrontation with the leader of the vampires who turns out to be their mother!! In fact, I really wish "Blood" HAD starred Wesley Snipes...in a Japanese school girl outfit and with braids!!The bottom line is that this film offers nothing new. You might think, yeah, but it's based on an earlier anime. Yes...one that came out two years after the movie "Blade" and about 27 years AFTER the "Blade" comics! The action is more over the top than "Blade"--partly because the vampires are ALSO demons in this one. But for me, the story just didn't deliver any reason to see the film in the first place. If you really, really, really, really must see it then by all means. The only new thing I got out of this film is a new understanding about the really nasty girls I knew in high school--they must have been vampire-demons!

Okay so this film really disappoints me, perhaps because I was so excited to see it. Or maybe it has nothing to do with the series. I get that this is the first film and its based off the movie more then the series but even so, there is no mention of what her blood can do and how important it really is. I mean the title of the film is called Blood. And where is Haji? Such an important character left out? And why were the effects so amazing awful. I mean so bad that I almost left. It looked like they weren't even finished they were so bad.I mean that creature that was flying around after the girls in the truck or the scene with the vampire creature runnig from rooftop?? Who let this get out? Also the end finally against the other chick jumping back and forth between realities got pretentious and boring quite fast.

I watched this, thinking that it's going to be a very mediocre movie. I mean, I judged the trailer as the 'best bits' of the movie and I was right. This movie is nowhere near great at all. I can't really compare it to the series as I've never seen it but apparently, the series is better. This review is from the point of view of a person who has never really heard of Blood until I saw the movie trailer. The movie, in my opinion, felt like there was no story in it and felt like things were just happening. I thought that the acting in this was very wooden, it just wasn't great at all. The only actress I would say that played their character well was the actress who played Saya. I thought that she was quite good at times but then on other times, she looked like she was being forced to play this role. I thought the actress who played Onigen wasn't good at all, it was below mediocre and the actress who played Sharon was…not bad but not good either. The special effects was quite bad. There were some good points where it was great but in other parts of the movie, it looked entirely fake. The demons looked unreal but the action scenes were very well done, it's just a shame that the special effects weren't the same. If you are going to watch this movie, I must warn you that this isn't a movie to take seriously. Basically something to do when you have time to waste and you don't want to think for an hour and a half.Read more reviews at: www.dudedazzmoviereviews.wordpress.com

Is this worth the time or not? I sat on the fence for a while before deciding. No, I did not watch the animated version. I am not a fan of animation. I want real people. So, there will be no comparison.OK, I should have watched the cartoon because this is no different. The blood spatters like cartoon blood. Everything looked cartoonish, even the scenery. The swordplay is good, but you would be much better of watching Toshirô Mifune in an Akira Kurosawa film to see some amazing swordplay - and realistic blood! You might like this if you idea of vampires in Twilight, but otherwise, pass.
