This half-hour pilot unfortunately did not get picked up for a TV series. It's a sequel to the popular movie Zombieland starring Eisenberg, Stone, Harrelson and Breslin. Unfortunately, they did not manage to get any of the original actors on board, so they added a completely new quartet of actors that all have done some TV work before, but not too known. The most famous of the bunch may be Maiara Walsh, who had a recurring character on "Desperate Housewives" for example. However, what was maybe lacking with the cast, got put right with the crew. The writers from the movie also wrote this short film and the director is the one from "Tucker and Dale vs Evil".All in all, it was an entertaining 30 minutes that had me hooked quite from the start because Tim Bagley is always a welcome presence for me. I wasn't really fond of Walsh's performance, but everybody was pretty okay with what they were given. I don't believe it was a lot worse than the film it is based on, here and there acting-wise maybe, but the story was equally good. It had weaker parts like the count, but I could bear with these thanks to the funnier highlights like for example how everybody they run into gets massacred by the zombies somehow. The skyscraper window cleaner particularly had me in stitches. It's unlikely somebody will ever watch this if he hasn't seen the film, but if you liked it, this one's definitely worth a watch, also thanks to the zombie seniors near the end. It's maybe hurt a bit by the lack of romance aspect and that the whole story obviously is no longer as innovative before the movie and The Walking Dead, but it can still make for an entertaining 30 minutes.

This was such a disappointment. In the very first scene (not a spoiler) they just say "fuck" for the first three minutes, going on about something that happened in a star bucks. The actors that were hired to replace the classic actors were terrible. The zombie makeup was completely awful. The story was absolutely horrible, the acting itself was horrible, and the writing was horrible. The jokes that would sound casual and smooth in the movie were choppy and sloppy in show. This went from a funny zombie movie to a pathetic, raunchy, TV show where "vagina" is said about forty times in the first episode. The fact that it IS a TV show means there is a lot less blood and gore and its very disappointing. Nothing at ALL like the walking dead. I can't believe this got made

This was seriously a big let-down. I can totally live with the actors being replaced. I still think it was a very bad idea to keep the original characters and names from the movie instead of inviting new ones, but that is really not my biggest problem with this series... The overall visual quality is even better then average (you simple can't expect a series to come even close to the quality of a movie, and that is OK). So what is the problem with this?FIRST: The humor, or better, the lack of any... The jokes (and gee, are there many of them literally waiting around every corner) are very stupid and lame. There was no time in this first episode that made me even chuckle a little. So if bad humor is not your thing... stay away from this!SECOND: There is an endless amount of plot holes and mistakes in this. Some would be acceptable, but the number of them makes you cringe. I lost all hope when a zombie was actually killed by a shot to the chest. How lazy or uninterested must a team of authors be to let something like this slip? I think giving this less then 3 stars would be unfair. The technical aspect is better then average and the acting can at least be tolerated. Many other things in this first episode can't, so 3 stars it is.

As someone who loved the movie, I had high hopes for the series. (Although, I also wished they had gone with different characters) I then watched my hopes get sh*t upon by this monstrosity that erased 30 mins of my life. The acting is pathetic, the "humor" is lame and the plot holes are literally infuriating. One of the most irritating issues I have is that the actors appear to be performing watered-down versions of the characters in the film. (One previous reviewer complained that Tallahassee's character went from "bad ass" to "retard." I would agree with that statement) Amazon, you're better than this - please let this abomination die!
