This show, just like Drake and Josh, iCarly, Victorious, etc.. was its prime. This show showed friendship and it was a new way of viewing comedy for kids. It also showed us how unlikely friends can become friends and even more than friends (Logan and Quinn). It gave us a glance of a new way of comedy and especially for Nickelodeon, I get why people hated it. It was unrealistic. Yeah I'll agree with that. But shows like this aren't meant to be realistic. It's the message within the show. And the message was no matter what you look like, whether you're a nerd like Quinn, or a well known person around campus like Zoey, they're all treated the same. Even though they can bag on each other from time to time, they always come around and make things better by apologizing and realizing their mistakes and what they've done. Acting for this time wasn't so bad. I'm reading comments from 2005- 2010 and I'm thinking to myself "You have no idea whats next for television if you didn't like this". Because after Drake and Josh and iCarly, TV went straight downhill. All those Nickelodeon shows and even Disney shows are TRASH. Should have enjoyed what you had until it was gone. Guess people didn't know.Comparing the writing 10 years ago compared to now, would you rather prefer the story lines of today kids shows? I'll wait. Compare the story lines from 10 years ago and today. Yeah, you'd rather have Zoey 101. It's an obvious choice. I think people back then expected a lot back then from All That and those other early 2000's shows and I don't blame them. I think Dan Schneider did a great job with this show and was amazing overall."They all have computers, they have flat screen TV's!" It's not a realistic fking show. Stop acting like it should be. It's a kids show. The message is clear and and I can't believe so many people didn't like it. I had to come on here to realize how many people really didn't like it. I used to think everyone loved it. This would have to be one of my top 3 shows ever.
... View MoreEverybody is basically bashing this show for the same reason. The show is not supposed to be realistic! If you want a 'realistic' show then make one yourself, because even reality shows are scripted. In reality we work, go to school and do stupid things, or watch Netflix all day. Do you really want to watch a show like that? They made it unrealistic because that's what kids and teens like and that's what makes the show exciting. Who cares if you don't like the show? The show is actually really popular so your opinion doesn't matter, people are still gonna watch the show regardless.. I know I do. Sure, zoey 101 gives us high expectations and all but then again, it's a show. it's made up. You all want realistic but what's the point of 'acting'if it's realistic? Acting is supposed to be fun, not boring. The show is awesome.
... View MoreBad acting and poor plot lines aside, the basic plot points of the show are completely unrealistic. In one episode/movie special, Zoey, the main character, transfers (in the middle of the year) to a boarding school in England. This would never happen. The process of applying to boarding school takes close to a year (applications, campus visits, interviews, paper filing, etc.), and by the time an American student is in high school, if he has not been educated in the British form the majority of his education, he would never be able to catch up to where he needs to be in order to take the standardized testing.Another common occurrence is (as with almost all Nick and Disney show nowadays) immature, inept adults. If any the teachers/staff acted the way they do on the show, but at a real school, they would a) never have been hired, or b) been fired. And if Zoey and her cohorts did half the things they do at a real school, they would have landed themselves in front of the Disciplinary Committee enough times to be expelled. These points alone make the show terrible (for me, at least). As an attendee of a boarding school myself, it casts boarding schools in a horrible light. It's not the glamorous, parent-free world that the show makes it out to be. And, yes, we do have a sushi bar in our buffet line and flat-screen TVs in our student lounge.
... View MoreOkay, let's see where I should start. When I was younger, I would LOVE to watch this show. Now, let's fast-forward where I am right now? I am a 14 year old teenager who decided to watch the show again. I swear to god, I think a few of my brain cells died after watching an episode after a long time. This show is disgusting. I have never wanted to go to Nick so badly and click the CANCEL button so bad in my entire life. Zoey 101 is about this girl; her name is Zoey. She is a pretty, tan, skinny, smart, amazingly- okay, how about I spare you all the list and just say Zoey is the entire definition of a MARY SUE. Mary Sue and her little brother are attending a new school; a boarding school that is called PCA, Pacfic Coast Academy. It's NOTHING like a normal boarding school. (When I was younger, I'd BEG my mother to let me go to a boarding school because of PCA. My mom just laughed and said it's nothing like that.) Zoey first arrives, and let's see... STALKER NUMBER ONE IS INTRODUCED- er I mean Chase. He is obsessed with Zoey and he has a "secret" crush on her; and by secret, I mean everyone in the entire school knows EXCEPT Zoey. How stupid. All the girls are the same. They are insanely smart, but none of them study, they are rich, beautiful, and they are like mini Zoeys. Well, except Quinn, the only non-"popular" girl. She's smart, but too smart, and she gets bullied by her friends. This show is the worst show on Nick. It tells children to be spoiled brats who always get what they want, etc. Spare your children from this pain, parents and make sure your child doesn't watch this.
