The trivia feature of the box set I've just purchased says (through subtitles) that this series was a great favourite of Jim Jarmusch. He may have liked it for the same reasons I do: it's a self-parody that is meant to be enjoyed as such. The series kept to the spirit of fun by not over-indulging in violence: there were at least as many kicks and punches as bullets flying, and those bullets never drew blood. The villains were take-offs on stereotypical baddies; the plots, while un-original, were again enjoyable as take-offs. The show had substantial sex appeal, though I confess (especially being Canadian)that I don't find Pamela Anderson that compelling physically. She does (or did) keep in shape, though, and can look good in hot pants. And that's part of what made V.I.P. enjoyable: good-looking, well-dressed people getting themselves into and out of ridiculous situations.

this show isn't so much good as it is addictive. i mainly watched it for Pamela Anderson. but i watched it so much i became hooked, hooked on the bad acting, fake fighting, and unreal plots. yes for you people like me Spike TV(channel 39) usually plays two episodes in a row at 11 am and 12 am everyday. and sometimes at 9 at night and if they show movies or something its usually on at random times later at night. Now that i have seen most episodes its safe to say this show is "okay" i like shaun baker(quick williams) and dustin nguyen. molly culver is not bad looking either. unfortunately the cheesy lines and unbelievably fake fight scenes ruin this show. i could have shot better scenes with my sister in a dark basement wearing sunglasses strung out on dark coffee. at least make it look like you hit the guy. anyway that is all.

One of the worst shows in television history, combining talentless acting, 2-dimensional characters, wooden dialog, and moronic plots into something so incredibly bad that many reviewers think that the whole thing is a campy joke and should be enjoyed as a comedy. However, that point of view may actually be a symptom of the brain damage that watching this truly awful "show" can cause.

Sure, it may be cheesy, but that's the whole point! The show does exactly what it aims to do: Have lots of action and lots of laughs. Sure, Pamela Anderson isn't that great of an actress, but the rest of a cast does a great job, despite the material they are given!
