I have always wondered what happened to Richard Sharpe (Sean Bean) after Waterloo, did he return to England after his French wife died and he lost his farm. It would have been hard for him to blend in as a civilian in London society being such a famous war hero of the peninsular wars and Waterloo. Did he change his name to John Malott and start a new life? Fans of Richard Sharpe will love this series. I will say no more, enjoy.

Loved the show but one thing confused me. Why did Dipple need that elixir but Marlot didn't? Thanks.

First, I love Sean Bean and generally liked all of the acting - no complaints there. The 2 problems I had was the utter darkness of this series, both metaphysically and illumination-wise. It felt like it might if I took a bath in sewage water at midnight, as an extreme comparison. It was made worse by how long the story takes to play out in both Seasons 1 and 2 - this especially is bad in Season 2, as Season 1 was tighter with more interesting subplots. Spoiler so don't read if you don't want to know what happens in Season 2. Marlot, after being resurrected, eventually becomes EXACTLY like he was originally - isn't that amazing? He still is trying to find Harvey and solve crimes, though of course he has to sneak around to avoid being recognized, considered the fact that he is/was DEAD. I just felt there was so much filler in this season that I just wanted it to be over, to come to some conclusion and a resolution. However it is very possible that a Season 3 will happen so this will probably not happen and hence it will be the final season I watch. If S2 has another open-ended ending I will definitely not watch any further seasons.IMHO, there should have been one miniseries filmed with both seasons combined. I'll tell you one thing, though - if life in the early-to-mid 1800's London was anything like this (without Frankenstein, I mean!) then I am very fortunate never to have had to lived through that horror.

It is original and very dark - it needs to be continued however as it does not need to end after two seasons - the plot twists possibilities are absolutely endless
