This show was so good and sucked me in immediately! However after watching the last episode I am so mad I ever started watching it all.... it gave no answers, it gave no closer.... I get leaving the audience wanting more and wanting them to think about things but really it doesn't give you anyyyythinnnggg there are so so so many questions I still have ! ( spoiler alert) what happened to sally anne and the kids? was Stella In love with Paul? What happened to Katie? I need answers!

Amazing cast for the characters, had me on edge the whole time. Simply perfect ending as well.

This is a well acted show with a plot that kept me interested, but the long, drawn out lulls grew tiresome. They could have made the show significantly better (and a number of episodes shorter) by just cutting out long, slow shots that cut back and forth to people thinking that were likely meant to build suspense but did the opposite by getting boring, and added nothing to character development. Sometimes the show seemed that it couldn't decide what it wanted to be, there is one episode that came across as a medical drama and was completely inconsistent with the other episodes and added almost nothing to the story. Good show, worth watching, but is made better if you can fast forward the tedious bits.

By the end of season 4 I tired of the contrivance laden story line. I found myself silently yelling at the screen because, once again, the most basic police procedures/common sense had been sacrificed for dramatic effect. This has nothing to do with the pace of British drama, although it is slow in comparison to U.S. police procedurals. No, my issue was with the instances of lazy writing that really accumulated by the end of season 4. My actual rating would be season 1 and 2, ratings of 8; Season 3 and 4, ratings of 6.
