This is probably my favourite paranormal show. Amy Allan is unlike any other psychic medium on the television - no flowery language, no pulling silly faces, no screaming - she talks to the audience like they're standing next to her in very descriptive but simple prose. If there's any confusion, Amy dispels it in a VT. Pairing her with Steve DiSchavi, a hard-headed ex-police officer, was a genius move, as (unless the pair of them are consummate actors and frauds, which seems very unlikely) he is the rational side of the programme - chasing up old murders, disasters, showing the facts that Amy seems to know anyway. The artist's sketch is a brilliant idea too. Unmissable.
... View MoreI love this show, with speculation on real or not irrelevant. I suppose that's because I've had "unexplainable" paranormal experiences my entire life, including fully manifested spirits, and even some questionable entities. If your experiences make you a square peg in a round-hole world you are probably more open to accepting Amy and her abilities as "real." Otherwise, why not enjoy it for the reality ride? It's not like any other paranormal show.Re Amy's weird facial expressions, well, if I saw/heard what she sees/hears, certain I would make some strange expressions and act sketchy now and then. Wouldn't you? I just know there's more to the world than what we are taught and Amy seems to convey that more than other mediums or psychics on this sort of show.Agree that creepy music UP AND UNDER doesn't serve, but suppose they are catering to the producers looking at viewership trends to handle post, with their plates full supplying content. The other ghost shows are much worse in using creepy mood FX. Can't say I would want either of their jobs (Amy or Steve) but they seem to help some overwhelmed people resolve dangerous and terrifying situations. Since I've had direct contact, it's easy for me to suspend disbelief, and I appreciate the paranormal levels Amy reveals at her locations because this is more accurate. Sweet dreams! ;-)
... View MoreThere's tons of paranormal shows out there but this one takes the cake. I love seeing the two perspectives from two different types of professionals. I like how they help people by showing what's happened there, what's currently going on and when Amy gives recommendations for solving/releasing the ghosts. I couldn't imagine being dead and not know or reliving a painful death over and over. I think the living and the dead need Amy just as much. I've gained a lot of respect for mediums through this. It's definitely been an eye opener! I used to experience things when I was little and I'd like to look into opening this back up again to be able to see what most can't. It seems a bit scary though. Amy would make a great mentor!
... View MoreI would rate the show a 10 but seems like the producers love to mix the audio with so much creepy music that it is impossible to hear what is being said. Especially when Amy whispers something important and the music volume suddenly hits a crescendo to the point the windows shake. The producer ruins the show by the volume of creepy music, no the music does not intensify the mystery, it makes one want to turn off the show. Get better producers and the show would be fantastic!!! I find the content to be interesting and intriguing. It is a little strange when Amy starts speaking weird or begins to act something out. but very interesting.
