Star Gate infinity reads like it was written by a 'Diversity society of American' focus group. It has cast members from every social background a couple of different races, and a couple of different species. Every member has experienced racism, specialisms or childhood trauma and has come though it with a valuable moral lesson that they cannot resist imparting to the rest of the world. Making this one of the most preachy cartoons of the 90s.Of course, because it's a an American children's cartoon , they can't actually tackle 'real' issues in any meaningful way. So, no messages on divorce, death (unless its a pet or a 2000 year old grandfather), sexuality, dating, US foreign policy, or why prescription drugs cover on medi care is essential for the working poor. Most episodes involve the cast jetting around the cosmos in supped up dune buggies righting wrongs and solving injustice which, while an admirable thing to do in itself, is spoiled by the fact that they do it by converting aliens to 'the American way of life'.Don't get me wrong, children can learn valuable lessons from this show, like not judging people by their skin color, or labeling people based on social prejudices, but anybody with even the smallest tendency towards cynicism will get fed up with the constant 'diversity is good' message, and anybody whose blood boils when they hear the phrases "what's good for America is good for the world" will feel like throwing a brick through the TV after about five minutes.Otherwise, it's pretty average for an American cartoon in terms of plot variety, voice talent and quality of animation.Contains mild peril, fantasy firearms, and socially difficult situations like bullying and racism, but no nudity, bad language, or real violence.

The moment I heard the theme music, I knew it was going to be bad, but I had no idea. The characters are/looks so stupid! They need to cut those cheesy Evangelion-looking suits and go back to fatigues. Thank goodness for Stargate SG-1.

This show is crap. I have only seen 2 episodes. This show should be considered a criminal offense. The humor is humorless, the plots are full of plot holes, and the lessons they teach you are stupid. And the characters are bad. There is on character, I am pretty sure he does not have a name, is the comedy relief. This is proved in the following episode: they end up on some planet where the only food is moss. The comedy relief complains the entire time that the food is moss. Then, the aliens on the planet give him ice cream at the very end of the episode, and , get ready to be surprised, it tastes like moss! Hahaha! In case you can't tell, I hate this show. This show is obviously aimed at little kids, which is why they teach you lessons like "it is important to learn history" and "the in crowd may not be very nice." But the show also has guns and explosions and things like that. Kids should not be watching shows that try to teach you life lesons and also show guns. This might give kids the ideas that guns are good. Because their favorite characters use them. Although I cannot imagine how any one would like these characters.

After watching some of the pilot episode, I too thought this was a travesty to the SG-1 namesake. But I checked back 10 episodes later, and found it a nice diversion while the Sci-Fi channel has the real show on hiatus. You have to expect them to dumb down the plots for younger kids, and the animation can only improve with time. The art reminds me of Batman Beyond. So, please give it some time, and try it again this summer in re-runs when there's nothing else on.
