So it's obligatory to state beforehand, that I love the original movie. Well-acted wacky characters, a plot with some sub-plots centered around one precious item, good music and a lot of one- liners. Hell, I would argue that the whole movie is a one liner start to finish. How does that translate in to a TV-series? I was surprised. Of course it is not possible to get all one-liners in 10 episodes of 40 minutes, although there are quite some, but the rest of the above was done very well. This series isn't really (and maybe luckily) an adaption of the movie in my opinion. It is more of an homage and has many winks to the movie. The characters are well acted and especially the side-characters have some of the wackiness that the characters had in the movie. Especially the characters of Vic and Uncle Ben deserve a shout-out, but even until late in the first season new interesting characters are added. This gives every episode a certain freshness and hopefully this can result in a second season. The only type of character I found missing was a heavy hitting gangster like Brick Top from the movie. Although it is maybe even better that there isn't a character/actor who tries to do an Alan Ford rip-off job.The music in this is also as diverse as in the original movie. The plot was very good, well executed and diverse. Every episode has a break-out and action-heavy scene which made the first season as a whole fun to watch. I would especially mention the prison break- scene, which was well shot, well executed and a pleasure to watch. This series is not the movie, it lacks a bit of the pacing and some of the great characters, but it makes up for it for showing the same passion and fun as the movie tries to show. A worthwhile watch if you are a fan of the original and like the crime-caper genre as a whole. I rate this 8 out of 10.

First, the TV show isn't like the movie, if anything it feels as if it's trying to be the movie, and at a first glance I was happy to say that it failed at it's ambition. However, this changed over the course of the show. I began thinking less about the movie, and more about the show, the characters began developing, the story began to unfold carefully, though cliché. Snatch isn't about the movie, it's about it's own thing, style is key, characters are strong, the soundtrack is great. I will not spoil anything, but this is a perfect show that could end on a season, thankfully, a second it's on it's way, and I cannot wait.

If you're looking for an exact remake of the original film this show is not it. However that doesn't meant that it isn't awesome. The show is a loving wink and nod to the movie, incorporating familiar bit's and pieces along with camera shots reminiscent of Guy Ritchie's style. An incredibly enjoyable comedy mixed in with loads of witty dialogue, action, drama, sweetness and topsy turvy adventures. The acting is great, comedic timing is on point and every episode is better than the last. The one thing the show has that the movie didn't is strong female characters who are intelligent, artful and crucial to the success of the group. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Snatch and getting pulled in by all of the great range of characters and the wonderful job the actors did portraying them.

The cast of the show was pretty well chosen, everyone seemed to fit their parts well, those not familiar with the source material might balk at the stereotypical sometimes even racist depictions of some of the characters, but its all to a point. The original film much like this show wouldn't win any major awards but at the same time it shouldn't be fed to the pigs like many other "tv series" adaptations.the first thing you notice about this is whats missing, like the lack of the characters "Turkish, Gorgeous George, Tommy (and his sausages that even by the end of the movie still aren't cooked)" and Alan Fords "Bricktop" however key points being the main bit of the story, the main character loses loads of money in a rigged fight he was trying to win with his boxer, coming upon a large fortune that everyone's interested in, and of course the pikeys.id call this a decent adaptation but really hope that we see something more of it, at only 10 episodes and a lot of the source left untouched, there's plenty for a second season to hopefully make a better impression. especially if they bring Alan Ford into the mix,
