Even though I was born in 1995, I still would watch this show when I was younger even with my older brothers. I would also watched other stuff with them such as 'Kenan & Kel' and 'Rugrats'. 'Rocko's Modern Life' is a classic and one of the best cartoons that Nickelodeon pulled out in the 90's. The characters are well loved and well developed. The story lines are great and humorous because they tell a good message in each episode and had a lot of sexual innuendos, which were very funny. I can't imagine one person in the world not liking this. This show had great depth and quality into it and the animation was also well done. So, 'Rocko's Modern Life' is about a wallaby named Rocko, who lives his everyday life with his two best friends, Heffer, a steer, and Filbert, a turtle. Rocko has a pet dog named Spunky and has neighbors who get irritated by Rocko, who's names happen to be Ed and Bev Bighead and they're frogs. Both are married, but the wife enjoys Rocko's company a lot more than his husband. I think this show is great for your child and I would recommend it to anyone at any age. The adult humor is pretty clever where kids would never get to understand like the older audience would. It's basically hidden and not that noticeable and the writers of the show were pretty smart of doing it too. It's a shame how Nickelodeon has gotten these days. Today's shows are pretty overrated and way more popular than the classics were. Shows such as 'iCarly', 'Victorious', and 'Big Time Rush' are extremely over the top and shouldn't get as much popularity as they have now and it's a little sad. Even the shows before them such as 'Drake & Josh' and 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide' didn't have as much popularity, which is why the 90's (and a little bit of the 2000's) had much more thought and cleverness into them, so go check this show out if you love classic stuff and I bet your kids would love it as much as I did.
... View MoreRocko's Modern Life was one of my all-time favorite shows as a kid. It is about a wallaby named Rocko, his dog who (possible spoiler) eats *everything*, Spunky, his two best friends, Heffer Wolfe (a steer) and Filburt (a turtle), and his froggy neighbors, Ed and Beverly Bighead. I love Rocko, and, whoever says that Nickelodeon isn't all that good anymore, I agree! I'm not saying I hate iCarly and those other new shows (I may think they'd be okay if I ever get the chance to watch them), but ever since Jimmy Neutron and some of the other new shows took the places of Doug, Pete & Pete, Aah! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, and the other Nickelodeon classics, Nick's totally not the same anymore, and I hate that! My cousin Jordan told me Rocko didn't come on anymore, and I kind of had that feeling and was like, "I hate that!" However, if you have easy access to the Internet, don't fret. You can still watch some of the fun episodes about Rocko, Heffer, Filburt, Spunky, and all their craziness on a little website-it's called YouTube!
... View MoreNickelodeon in the early 90's was very different from current Nickelodeon. Back then, Nick had shows that were downright sick, and in my opinion Rocko was the best. It had everything. Clever homages, bizarre situations, and loads of quotes. Some of the bests were from Filburt, especially his cartoon character Mr. Cheese's proclamation of "I AM THE CHEESE! I AM THE BEST CHARACTER ON THE SHOW!" The characters were amazing, and pretty much every episode was brilliant. Bizarre concepts are a movie about a killer haircut, and a fishing trip were the fish fish for you, as well as a ship captain with wooden legs, arms, and eyes. And who could forget Really Really Big Man's Nipples of the Future? It's amazing what Nick allowed to be shown back then. Only the stellar Invader ZIM is better when it comes to Nick shows. Hope for a DVD soon.
... View MoreRocko's Modern Life was about a wallaby named Rocko and his dog Spunky moving from Austrailia to the United States. He befriends Heffer, a steer raised by wolves, and Filbert, a self-conscious turtle. The show follows his crazy antics as he tries to transition into the American lifestyle. Rocko works at Kind-of-a-Lot-of-Comics and has to put up with his angry neighbor, Mr. Bighead, who does not care for Rocko and his friends. The shows humor is some of the best that Nick has ever aired. There is farting and burping jokes for the kids, and there is hidden adult humor for the older people watching. Rocko is not really a kids show, but it is simply brilliant. The plot is simple enough, but it is the humor that makes it a truly great show.Kid: "Daddy, my teacher said whenever a car gets its gas cap, an angel gets its wings." Father: "Your teacher is full of snot!" 10/10
