A victim really of the 07-08 writers strike this show deserved longer. It was very quirky, didn't really fit a box in terms of genre, and had a good cast, including Brit, Anna Friel.Sadly some of those plus points I mentioned also worked against the show. It was really overly quirky, to the point I expected to see Tim Burton's name on the credits, and the fact that it didn't really fit a box in terms of genre I'm guessing didn't make it easy for TV bosses to market. In the UK it was also sadly shown in the big Saturday night slot on ITV, where people I don't think expected to find such an 'out there' show. It's a real shame.

Four years ago, this show premiered and I was immediately entranced. I watched every episode religiously. There are absolutely no words to describe the greatness of this show. The Cast-From the eclectic Olive to the hardened Lily, you could never ask for a more perfect cast. Every single actor gets so into their character, it's amazing. There's not a single character to dislike either. The characters are original and the actors playing them are fabulous. Three of the four main characters were all rightly nominated for Emmys and Golden Globes, however only Kristin Chenoweth nabbed one, but every single actor deserved one. Also, the guest stars deserve recognition; whoever cast Eric Stonestreet, Joel McHale, Wendie Malick, Jayma Mays, Molly Shannon, and more is an absolute genius. The Plot-I can't stand cookie-cutter plots that are close to other shows' plots, but this one is so original, quirky, and imaginative you cant't help but love them all. From a dog breeder in a polygamous relationship who is killed by one of his four wives to a killer Frescorts (friend escorts) owner, every episode is more outrageous than the last. In between these bizarre murder mysteries lie morals and family drama-they get so much in in every episode. There is also so much witty humor (that never goes stale)-each episode left me in stitches. The Sets-Absolutely stunning. Enough said. The Special Effects-Even the special effects are whimsical on this show. They look real while at the same time are so over the top you can't help but crack a smile. The Music-Jim Dooley is a master at this show. The music is truly beautiful. It doesn't get in the way of the show by any means, but it just adds another layer ot the fantastical and whimsical aspect of the show.Unfortunately, this show was too smart to survive more than two seasons, although it deserved many more. It premiered in the worst possible time (The Writer's Strike of '07) and only has twenty-two episodes, but they are truly the best twenty-two episodes TV was ever lucky enough to have. I suggest this to anyone and even two and a half years after its finale it still garners so much praise from everyone who watches it.

When Pushing Daisies was on, it always made my day. I just loved how funny, quirky and clever it was. So I was saddened when it ended as abruptly as it did, it may have had a rocky start however it did get much better very quickly and had even more time to progress if given the chance.I loved Pushing Daisies for several reasons. With skillful photography and striking clothes, lighting and sets, the visuals were constantly very colourful. The music had a lot of charm and quirkiness about it too, the writing was witty and engaging and the stories were clever with an original and imaginative concept. The characters were always fanciful and likable, Jim Dale's narration was sardonic and beautifully delivered, Kristen Chenoweth brightened up every scene she appeared in as did a fair number of those who guested on the show and Lee Pace and Anna Friel were very endearing in their own way.In conclusion, a gem that ended too soon. 9/10 Bethany Cox

The story is based on a Pie Maker that can bring dead people/things back to life for a minute before something of equivalent life is taken. And second touch is death, death forever. The show has a over voice narration, and follows the Pie Maker and a private eye solving crimes, by talking to the dead… for a minute anyways. Oh yes, and he brings back to life the love of his life, Chuck. This show is the anti-Tim Burton, instead of dark and strange, it still has some of the dark and a lot of the strange… in a brand new spanking techi-color! The costumes are beautiful and the scenery is unique. The plot is not very strong or the story line but it's still so pretty to watch and the characters are very likable.
